Han solo
Vader
Luke skywalker
P.S. best OT pilots.
It would of been so cool for the PT to see Yoda or Mace windu to become fighter Pilots as well as Padme too.

I'd say:
1. Darth Vader
2. Luke Skywalker
3. Wedge Antilles
1. Well, he was a pretty good pod racer back in his days as a kid on Tatooine, and was able to destroy the droid control ship, even if R2-D2 helped. And by taking the EU into account, he was an ace in the Jedi Starfighter.
2. Enough Said.
3. Come on, to be able to participate in 3 major battles, contributing in some way and not get injured or killed, that takes skill.

Where do people get off coronating Darth Vader? We see him fly a beeline down the Death Star trench in ANH and then...nothing else. How does that compare to Han's maneuvers in the asteroid field, for example?

well darth vader was incredible in that battle he single handedly took out at least half the rebel pilots in the whole group that was sent there. one,by one he took his time and almost effortlessly won the whole battle.and by that time in the movie we shouldn't be surprised because obi-wan sed he was THE BEST star pilot in the galaxy and he was going by the clone wars never mind how much better he might of gotten in the mean time.

Exactly. Vader is the pilot of both the original and prequel trilogies. Though we don't have as large a body of evidence to compare Vader to Luke or Han, he had a reputation of the best pilot in the galaxy. Plus, Vader had the Force. Han Solo could have practiced all the time, but there is no way he was better than Vader. And Han was an excellent pilot. Vader was excellent and he had the Force. Bar none, Vader was simply the best.

So? Anakin piloted 1/3 of a flaming wreckage that was the Seperatist's flagship.
I;m not trying to say anything, but Han did flew it, plus there was extensive modifications done to make it fly around like that.
Also, excluding Darth Vader in the OT, the only thing we see han fly is the millenium falcon. We don't know how good he is with other types of fighters. Luke & Wedge, however flown at least 2 types of fighters during the OT.
I wouldn't call what Anakin did with the Invisible Hand piloting so much as a crash landing. The Falcon had extensive modifications, but the Falcon was still a Freighter and Han managed to fly it as if it were an X-Wing.
All we see Vader fly in the OT is his TIE Fighter and yet he tops your list so I see no reason to disqualify Han for only piloting the Falcon.

Vader basically just chased those Rebel pilots down (most of them were in the trench and couldn't maneuver). Plus, he was flanked by two other pilots the whole time in case anyone did try to engage him.
Also, for the purposes of this discussion, Obi-Wan's comment about Vader being "the best pilot in the galaxy" doesn't hold water. For one thing, it was just Obi-Wan's opinion. For another, he was talking about when he met Anakin--and since that time a lot of great pilots had been born, including Han, Luke, Lando, Wedge, etc.

well that may be true but even if more pilots show up over time he still has the advantage of being the most powerful force user in the galaxy at that time and that gives him a great edge over any of the guys you mentioned (except for luke and maby han with some luck) look at it this way can you really see any of them guys winning a space battle with vader? they could get away with there lives sure, but not beat him.

Judging solely on what we see in the OT(this is the OT forum, after all) and throwing out what we know from the PT, Vader isn't much of a pilot. We pretty much just see him fly in a straight line down a trench in the Death Star and take potshots at a bunch of snub fighters. There wasn't really anywhere for the Rebel pilots to go in that trench, so of course it was easy pickings for Vader. The only credible thing he's done as a pilot in the OT was straighten out his TIE from an uncontrolled spin. Sure, that takes skills, but it's nothing compared to the other maneuvers we see throughout the trilogy.
With that in mind, here are my rankings:
1)Han
2)Luke
3)Wedge

Luke is by far the best, because Luke is Mark Hamill and Mark went on to own it up in Wing Commander 3, 4 and Prophecy. You can't buy those skills.
