IG-88 just loves those cyborgs. I hear that the story of General Grevious is one of his favorite holonovels.

Dark Lord was I believe a month after RotS. Vader was an emotional and physical mess. But a couple of things happen by the end of the novel, a, Vader taps into the true power of the darkside, b, Vader starts upgrading the suit. There's no reason to believe he didn't continue to update suit throughout the time up to the ot. Check out ESB, dueling Luke Vader looks graceful. I think often people underestimate the power of Vader in the ot. Yes, he could have been everything, but he still became something great. He could have been Michael Jordan but instead became Larry Bird, if you will. It doesn't surprise meet that IG-88 respected and admired the guy. The whole galaxy feared Vader and knew his power. Few knew about Palpatine, for the galaxy at large, Vader was the symbol of power.
Brilliantly stated, I agree. What was there not to admire at that point if you were a morally non-judgmental droid? And Vader was tremendously graceful in his suit in the OT, quite agile really. It wasn't until ROTS I even realized he had mechanical legs. He wasn't more machine than man, despite Obi-Wan's 'certain point of view' statement - he was more man than machine in reality with just the bottom of his legs and arms mechanized and a few internal parts assisted that way. EU elaborated, but even they did not limit him by virtue of his suit over much after a while, like in his duel with Shayne. Legends are worshiped, even by droids.

Honestly, the Borg was the best interpretation of my mental image of Vader after ROTJ and it's novelization. Even before I even knew anything about the Borg, minus the collective conciousness - plus the outer suit - the Borg is exactly how I envisioned Vader in post ROTS/CT.

IG-88 probably wanted to offer Vader to overthrow the Emperor and rule the galaxy as Vader and Droid.

Next thing you'll be telling me is that IG-88 wanted to take control over one of the Death Stars as well.

In the SOTE video game IG-88 has a gun that can shoot around corners.
For some reason there's only one entity in the GFFA that has such a thing, and it's him.

Maybe IG-88 admired the fact that Vader had knees. Have you noticed that IG-88 doesn't have knees? Imagine trying to sneak up on or chase your bounty with these steel pipe legs without knee joints. The Frankenstein monster is a freaking ballerina by comparison when it comes to graceful ambulation.

Maybe he can call into one of those help lines, or go on a talk show with the theme "I've fallen in love with a Sith Lord".

IG-88's problems don't end with a lack of knee joints:
His head used to be part of the bar at the Mos Eisley cantina. So you've got an expresso machine (or the Galaxy far, far away equivalent) for a head and no knee joints.
By the way, that torso looks pretty long and straight. If there's a joint or flexion point in the thoraco-abdominal area, I'm not seeing it. Unless your quarry is a tree sloth strung out on Xanax, you're not gonna have the mobility to kill or capture him.
Oh, and since you have a rifle in one hand and a pistol in the other -- and no obvious holster on your hip or sling on the rifle -- what do you do if you want to use your hands? Do you just drop one or both firearms?
Are you sure bounty hunting is the job for you?
