People underestimate the Ewoks. It's too bad they weren't more vicious in the films,( other than eating stormtroopers, and trying to eat Han and Chewie to try to appease their "golden god"..

Alpha-Red posted: Aside from the fact that it would make much more sense to have an Imperial victory, magically giving the Rebels an easy victory over a more powerful enemy just cheapens what happens in the Death Star throne room. Palpatine constantly uses the seemingly inevitable Rebel defeat to tap into Luke's anger and turn him to the dark side. But if the Rebels were to win anyway, then what point is there for Luke to even consider turning? It all becomes a psychological mind game rather than an actual temptation. Now if the Rebels were to lose in space and be forced to surrender, then it adds more to symbolism to when Luke finally throws down his lightsaber, that he would sooner accept defeat rather than give in to the dark side.
Furthermore, it means that the outcome of the lightsaber duel would actually have an effect on what's going on outside. Once Vader throws Palpatine down the reactor shaft, that leaves Luke in a position to order all Imperial forces to stand down. Or if that isn't convincing enough, Vader himself could give that order to Piett and Jerjerrod as his last act before dying.
Palpatine's death severed the Battle Meditation Sidious used for his troops. Even Thrawn admits this.

It seems clear that most people think the battle could've been depicted better and with more drama.

We should have seen the rebel commandos in action.

The only thing I would have wanted was an extended space battle with more capital ships blowing up.

Several occasions during the Battle of Endor

Well from my point of view,I think the Throne Room is equal with the Battle of Endor because:
a)If Luke joined the Dark Side he would probably tell to the Emperor about the plan to blow up the DeathStar from inside(the main reactor) and the Rebel may have lost the battle....Even if the Rebels had a victory with Luke been in the Dark Side, inside the Death Star, then Luke would be dead, the last Jedi master would dead, and we wouldnt have a second Jedi Order...
b)Even if Vader gave the ((Stand down order)) the Empire should have to be destroyed, because it cant be peace with a whole Imperial Army(dont say that we should decamp the Army because it is impossible)

The Empire doesn't have to be destroyed in the conventional sense. Once Palpatine is out of the picture, everything falls into place. When Malak betrayed Revan, the entirety of the Sith armada chose to follow him instead. In the alternate ending of the ROTS videogame, Anakin kills Palpatine and the clonetroopers raise their weapons as if to shoot him....but end up backing down. If this is true of how Sith empires operate, then Vader throwing Palps down the reactor shaft and then telling the Imperial fleet to stand down would have more than worked out. Then all Luke has to do is play his little dark Jedi act like he did in Jabba's palace with some semi-Force chokes and all the Imperial commanders would fall in line.
