Yay, my favorite quiet scene! Didn't think it'd beat Yoda and the Force
oh, so much meaning and for a few years now subtext
and a facial expression by Vader at the end
for all of RotJ's faults, it has its moments to shine

Agreed, Senny! (Except for being my favorite ) This has to be the best scene of ROTJ, hands down. You can really sense Vader's struggle here.. it's pretty touching. This scene has probably gained the most from the PT than any other.

Wonderful scene, and it has certainly gained a lot from the new movies... but I'm surprised it beat out a few previous ones, particularly "there is no try". Still, its only one spot different from that one, so not a big deal.

It has gained a lot from the PT. There is the clash of ideals between the dark and the light, where the dark tries to turn the light while the light tries to redeem the dark. Very common concept, yet still great in context.

There is no try is probably one of the deepest scenes in ESB. "I don't believe it." "That is why you fail"
Luke surrenders is a a great one too. You can hear some pride in Vader voice when he says Luke is finally a Jedi, and that is resembles his old saber. [Even though, it really doesn't at all.]

Classic Scene. It fits the entire saga together.

This duel has so much more meaning after seeing the completed Prequel Trilogy. After twenty years of brooding and seething, Vader can finally take another crack at that Obi-Wan nut.

Its nice to see this duel in the top ten, because it has been so under rated over the years. People think that just because Obi-Wan and Vader aren't doing backflips, that its boring. I really like this scene.

I don't normally say this, but QFT.
Besides, its the first lightsaber duel we ever saw. Backflips or no, that right there puts this one way up there in the rankings.

I enjoy this sequence as well. Obi-wan is clearly buying time in order to send Luke in the right direction as a potential Jedi. There's also a look that Obi-wan gives Luke just before he allows Vader to strike as if Obi-wan recognizes that Luke is the answer to the fulfillment of the prophecy.

Was anyone else outraged that this was #9 in the top ten greatest duels in this months insider? It's a classic!
I remember the mystery when Ben's cloak first dropped. Darth Vader talking to Obi Wan about their past....
