That scene is priceless in its importance and overall value. It sums up the entrie saga by having Vader finding redemption when it comes to saving family from evil. It's just amazing how they did that scene.

This is the scene the whole movies are really made for. Now after ROTS, theres more depth to this scene, but it was great even before the prequels were made. Anakin/Vader is watching the Emporer kill yet another Jedi, if he going to stop him or let him kill him? He finally makes up for Mace all those years ago.
Def deserves it's number 3 spot. I'm just wondering what 2 and 1 will be. I'm excited!

I love Vader's silent deliberation, but otherwise I like the previous one a gazillion times better

Great to see ROTJ doing well here. 2 Brilliant scenes, although I would have swapped them around.

When ROTJ came out, it was my favorite film for about two years. Then it went back to ANH. Though the last three years I'd be hard pressed to choose between III and IV.

VI was "my" film for when it came out at the cinemas. I already loved ANH at that point, but had never seen ESB. So ROTJ was the first SW film I saw at the cinema, so I guess that's part of the reason I love it so.
One thing I think is a shame though, now that this scene has been shown - and forgive me for mentioning the PT - is that Lightning was shown in the prequels. I think it would be so much better if it was left to the end of Jedi.

I agree. I remember watching ROTJ in theatres in '97 and seeing the lightning for the first time and thinking it looked so crazy. Now after Dooku used it and Sidious, it kinda lost it's mystery.

I find the 'magic' of the OT comes mostly from the way it combines visuals with music, all on top of plot to create an atmosphere or sense of captivation. As such I find the 'Jedi's Fury' scene more immersive i.e. it just captures me every time. Vader creeping round the throne room, trying to tease Luke out. Luke has succombed to fear and is cacking it (quite rightly). It's just so easy to empathise with Luke watching this scene. I feel his fear as he hides in the shadows, and when Vader says "So, you have a twin sister. You're feelings have now betrayed her too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete" I too feel the anger swelling inside me. So when Vader says "If you will not turn to the Dark Side, then perhaps she will" and Luke yells "Nooo" I get this huge swelling of emotion that then comes pouring out as the onslaught ensues. I'd have to therefore rank it much higher then 'Vader's Redemption' which in comparison seems quite straight-forward and doesn't grab me in the same way. I'm surprised Vader's Redemption is this high - it's obviously a key moment in SW-lore, but I don't find it particularly impactive to watch.
Having said that, I do love seeing the lightning reflect in Palps' face as he fries Luke, and I love the lightning channelling through Luke's teeth, and the smoke rising off him.
Would I be right in thinking that the scene that has Luke and Leia swinging across the chasm in the Death Star has not come up yet? I'm not sure, but it is an iconic scene that is a great example of the spirit created in ANH and is in my top 10. I hope it's number 2 (assuming the 'dead cert' for No. 1 is indeed No.1).

The chasm swing, for lack of a better term, is the iconic moment of the saga, imo.

Wonderful scene, definitely top 10, but I'm not sure I'd have it above the last couple that were posted.
