How so? I mean, other than a few farmboys, why would population of Tattooine be concerned with the Empire. Not like they gave them any trouble or anything.

The inhabitants of Tatooine dont like any outlanders.
There really wasnt any good reason for a coverup by the stormtroopers, and it would waste their time.
Speculating and looking at this like a murder-mystery, who then had a motive to make Luke think it was a stormtrooper coverup ? Obi-Wan maybe, who forsaw the need to go to Alderaan with Luke ??   Did Obi-Wan have a secret partnership with the Sandpeople ?

Not exactly that, but Tatooine, specifically Mos Eisley and maybe Mos Espa, were filled with people on the run from the Empire. Former journalists, runaway slaves, Intelligence agents disillusioned by Palpatine, dissidents, persecuted, etc. All with warrants on them.

The Lars homestead was destroyed for the same reasons as the Tantive IV and the Jawa sandcrawler: No one who had even temporarily had custody of the stolen Death Star plans was to be left alive, on the off-chance that they had accessed them.

i think after the jawas were slaughterd the other clans got angry and went on a rampage,or a krayt dragon torched the place. perhaps beru was a bad cook and blue milk is higly flamable perhaps she caused the fire

I'm assuming the last two posters were joking, because if you really believe the substance of your posts then you're missing the entire point the Tatooine sequence is making -- namely, the Empire is evil, and Luke and the other Rebels have a moral duty to defy them.

Maybe the Lars had a secret meth lab. Thats why the Jawas are scavengers, they need money for there next fix! It would certainly explain their speech, and why they roll up to the Lars homestead exclusively.
