The choke wasn't lethal at all.
Padme died becouse she lost the will to live apparently. Which may or may not have been caused by Anakin's fall to the Dark side.

He find out about her in some new expanded universe trilogy.

Luke wouldn't have been changed. He didn't expect any loe from hi father Vader in return, yet he still risked his own life to try and bring him on the good side. It just show what a good person Luke is.

I think Vader would have tried to cover it up. Palps told Vader that "You killed her" therefore vader believed he killed her so he'd either cover it up or shift the blame toward Obi Wan

C'mon, Vader did kill Padme, even though they said she died of heartbreak. I think Lucas put that in so that Luke wasn't redeeming the guy who murdered his mother (even though he kinda did). Granted, it wasn't entirely intentional, but he was responsible for her death. If he hadn't choked her, I don't think the heartbreak alone would have killed her.

I don't know. The way it looks onscreen it's that she's fine after the force choke and that she did just lose her will to live. Forget about the fact that the "giving up" stuff is contradictory to her character, it seems that she did choose to die despite the Force Choke.

Vader probably would not have shown weakness because it had been many years in between for him to change. However, it doesn't mean that he wouldn't have paued for a moment or two.

I see your point. And yes, you're right: Padme was already getting heartbroken by 'Vader', seeing how far her husband Anakin (who was no longer 'Anakin' anymore. He was 'Darth Vader', with emphasis on the 'Darth' [and "Dark Lord of the Sith"] part) had turned to the Dark side of the Force.

Exactly!! I agree with what Kal said.
Heartbreak alone isn't enough to kill someone, unless it's EXTREMELY EXTREMELY PAINFUL, by which Anakin (now Vader, but Padme didn't know that yet) Force-Choking his own wife (the woman he supposedly 'loved' and 'would do anything for', and ontop of that, the man with whom Padme fell in love with when he was only 9 years old (lucky b*st*rd, hehehe), and she was 14 years old). i mean come on seriously, when have you ever heard of a 14-year-old teenaged-woman falling in love with a VERY-YOUNG-looking BOY of ONLY 9 YEARS OLD???!!! something like that is in a feat in itself! :-P

Did Luke even know what the name of his mother was? I'm sure Owen and Beru had to have told him. But in the films there was no true reference to Padme except for when Luke asked Leia what she remembered.
