Empire was his best overall in ot... although his throwing down of the saber and telling Sidious off was damn cool too....
BTW his role as C****Knocker was vastly underrated IMO LOL....

I don't know about anyone else, but I get chills when I hear the line "You've failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi... like my father before me." Completely awesome moment there, and Hamill gives a superb delivery.

I'm in disagreeance to an extent. In ANH his acting was good but somewhat hindered; the only performance that impressed me was Sir Alec Guiness', but as good a film as it
relied upon on set pieces, a classic score, archetypes, and entertaining character interactions to bring its greatness.
In TESB he was good, but moreso at the end when James Earl Jone's voice was dripping with earnestness; Hamill didn't even know that Vader/Anakin was Luke's father at the time, and the delivery still didn't fall through in divergent context. TESB is also as enriched and open in its beginning as it is in its ending, which helps.
In ROTJ I felt he was best. All actors have questionable delivery sometimes. Hamill captured the tremendous maturity and range of emotion between the placid Jedi Master and the son who just wants to save his father, while capturing the aura of the Jedi. To me, that's his most potent performance.

Mark's best acting was in TESB. Everything, from Hoth to Bespin, were great. In my opinion, he was the best actor in the entire film!

He was best in ROTJ. He had some moments in the others.
