After reading 'Star Wars: Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina' I'd have to say definitely M'iiyoom Onith. tongue Just because she gives Feltipern Trevagg his comeuppance at the end after he was basically using her.

Y'all do know that the mask used for Ketwol, the elephant-looking alien that replaced Lak Sivrak, was the same used for Melas- the smoking lizard at the beginning of the Cantina sequence? They simply turned the mask backwards and put a scarf around it so that you wouldn't see the tusks.

Ketwol

Melas

I personally liked the two wolfmen better myself, but alas, obviously GL did not.

We used to call him Snaggletooth. He's pretty cool, and was one of the four Cantina Creatures Kenner made into action figures in 1978 (which also included Greedo, Walrus Man and Hammerhead). When I usedto play with my figures, I usually made Snaggletooth into a Rebel spy, but I don't know the character's "real" EU persona.

Wookiepedia draws a distinction between "Takeel" and his supposed brother "Zutton" while claiming that Zutton was the one sometimes called Snaggletooth. I don't recall seeing two distinct Snivvians in ANH so I'm kind of thinking they're really the same guy.

While Takeel did appear in the film, Zutton did not. Zutton was created exclusively for the Star Wars Holiday Special. Both are the same species, however.

I could have sworn this alien was named Katikiatkat? Where did you get your name from?

That would be Wookieepedia. I know it is not 100% as a encyclopediac website but it's been pretty dead on for me.

I have a lot of the cantina action figures and I have to say that I wish that an exclusive buy online deal would be made where you could purchase an articulated Mos Eisley Cantina playset that ran on nightlightbulbs. There was a cantina set but it was a crummy cardboard fall apart set that was a dango let down. They have all of these doll houses for girls and I have seen my own share of pretty decent playsets, a detailed cantina would be heaven.

Her name is indeed Kitik Keed'kak. Yamrii is merely another name for the Huk species. I have the action figure myself, it came as part of a K-Mart exclusive Cantina bar set along with Wuher and Dr. Evazan.

Here are a few shots of my Mos Eisley Cantina diorama back at my parents' house in Texas. These pics are somewhat outdated, as I have added some new figures to the scene since these were taken (including the entire Modal Nodes band), but they are all I have handy at the moment:

All this being said, I believe my favorite Cantina Alien is Momaw Nadon. I've just always liked the way he looks. And yes, the Cantina scene is my favorite scene in the entire saga and I am quite the detail-oriented fangirl. blush

Great post!

Love the pictures and I didn't know it was the same mask just flipped around.

My fave is the Bith or the Wolfman with the glowing eyes.

Him! Defel is his name. I was so upset when he was replaced in the Special Edition... Reading this thread, I can see it wasn't just me.

His name is actually Arleil Schous, his species was Defel/Wraith.

It'd be a tie between the Bith band and the wolf man. They're both great.
