How are we supposed to believe that Lucas had the PT in mind when writing/filming that scene? At the time he didn't even have the PT in fluid story form yet.

Unless you want to say "thinking about the PT" very, very loosely.

Yes thats what i meant, thinking about the PT loosely in that he must have said to himself "well i mine as well at least mention her even if i never do a PT since if i dont than who luke and leias mom was would be a mystery" and now there is a PT so its nice to have that scene and it gives the whole scene a little more meaning. peace

Least fav of the OT. I like the space battle, particularly the entire "it's a trap" sequence. The Ewoks were a good excuse for a plush toy line and little more. I think if it ROTJ had featured Wookies instead of Ewoks, as was rumored (back in the day) to be in the original outline for the film, I would have enjoyed it more. Still it is a good film and in it's original form provided good closure to the OT.

It's my least favorite of the OT, but it's my third favorite out of the entire saga. It also has my favorite character in it, Oola.

I actually like ROTJ least out of the OT movies, but it does contain one of the best scenes in all of Star Wars: Luke, Vader, and Palpatine on the Death Star. This incredible scene ties the whole saga together and gives this movie its name. Luke's actions, refusal to turn to the Dark Side, and love for his father finally lead to the "return of the Jedi" within Anakin... allowing Anakin to save his son, destroy the Emperor, and fulfill his own destiny by bringing the Prophecy of the Chosen One to fruition. ROTJ also has great space battles.

I think it still has the best space battle of the six.

I have to agree with this. ROTJ is my least favorite film these days but that space battle is the best. Admiral Ackbar is something that makes it even better.

This is basically how I feel. Even though I believe that the scene in Yoda's hut is the best dialogue scene of the saga (I suppose that's not saying much), the movie just becomes painfully slow after Tatooine. Han also sort of irritates me throughout the entire movie.

Well if it's any consolation, I believe Harrison Ford himself got 'irrated' with Han Solo. I read an interview and I can't recall that exact words, but he said he would never Play Han Solo again, and that he prefered Indiana Jone's character over Han Solo.

Now, in regards to ROTJ, I didn't like the Ewoks so much. Didn't hate them either, just...I don't know. And I thought the Death Star was anti-climatic. It was supposed to be a new, all powerful Death Star, yet we never saw much of its destructive powers. I mean, blowing up one Rebel Cruiser is not the same threat as blowing up Alderaan. And, the thing blew up just as easy as the first Death Star. Imperial engineers should have found ways to build a new Death Star without having its whole core dependent on 'The main reactor'

But that aside, the question was what did we like about ROTJ. I loved all the Jabb stuff, loved the revelations (Vader is definately Luke's father and Leia's too!) loved Vader's repentance and switch back to the light side. Didn't expect that!

For me, not the best SW movie, but certainly not the worst. Still it was a good movie, if not great!

Return of the Jedi is my favorite of the Star Wars saga. I think The Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith are more solid films, but this...has always been my favorite one, and it was the first one I remember watching as a kid. Probably because its a little more colorful than the previous two.

Go Jedi!!!!

I like it a lot...it's not my favorite-probably number 3 or 4 in ranking...

I guess the only thing I don't like is the whole Ewok thing...other than that, it's great!

It seems such an epic ending to the saga-I only WISH I could have been at the age to see it in theaters to enjoy its original release, like I was for ROTS. (I was only 2 when it came out)

I liked the ROTJ, I would probably rank it at my 3rd favourite of the Saga. I thought it ended well and had some very good scenes in it. The only thing I didn't like were the Ewoks but hey it was still a good film.
