	Poor old Imperials, everyone thinking they're evil and bad. True they may have destroyed Aldeeran and slaughtered its inhabitants, but other than that mild (cough) bit of evil, they ain't all bad, and the Rebels ain't that squeaky clean either. (By the way this is meant in a fun way) 1) Yes they're tyrannical and dominating, but they did bring peace and order. Remember for several years before the Empire massive numbers were dying in the clone wars. Martial enforced peace is preferable to total war. 2) The uniforms are really cool 3) If you were a young guy on some rock of a planet, The Empire is a good opportunity to explore the galaxy, learn some skills, enrich your life and make a good living. It'll make a man of you. 4) As we know from Phantom Menace, the senate was plagued by infighting and petty squabbles by countless races with historical quarrels with one another. At least under Palpatine things get done. 5) Imperials intercept smugglers trying to sell 'death sticks' and other harmful contraband across the galaxy. Isn't that a good thing? 6) Many independent contractors and slaves died aboard both death stars. The rebellion has blood on its hands because of this. 7) Building those Death Stars, Star Destroyers and Super Star destroyers must have kept thousands of people employed in their construction. There must have been one hell of an unemployment rise after the Battle of Endor. 8) Since a massive amount of imperials are clones all in full armour there must be very little bullying or discrimination...because everyone looks the same! 9) The sith are evil because of the Jedi Purge. Hang on! weren't the Jedi dedicated to destroying the sith too. 10) After a while you'll develop a British accent, and sound more refined 11) Only Jabba the Hutt wronged Luke and co. so how is it justified that he killed dozens of other people/aliens when he blew up Jabba's sail barge. Max Rebo and his band didn't deserve to die, they were just musicians! Nor did the slaves and hired entertainers/chefs/butlers. They had no quarrel with luke, but he's responsible for their deaths.....And you call the Empire Evil. 12) people called the Empire racist (or should that speciesist)because they favoured humans. Hang on! in ESB there is a clear line up of Bounty Hunters of many different species and backgrounds (don't forget Garindan at Mos Eisley as well). On the contrary, the Empire were willing to employ many species. The rebellion were explicitly racist, just listen to what poor old Chewie had to put up with 'laugh it up fuzzball' 'will someone get this walking carpet out of the way!' 13) At least Imperials don't kiss their sisters 14) It's considered terrible that the Imperials give such harsh treatment to people, and are overly ruthless....Yeah coz it's not as if 'Good guys like Kenobi' would permanently sever a guys limb to 'prove a point' in a minor altercation....oh wait Add anymore you can think of.

	Imperial forces are supposed to be evil. I think Lucas wanted that perception. But the Empire instead comes across more like the Keystone Cops - bumbling and stumbling against the Ewok's ambush. The officers command none of our respect, Vader keeps choking them. Yeah the Lars burnfest was evil, but why can't Lucas have given us a "Platoon-like" village burning? 	In Darth-Davo's defense, the Jedi were themselves planning a coup d'etat before Palpatine declared himself Emperor. They were also apparently afraid that the Sith influence on the Republic's legal system would have made removal from office and/or prosecution of Palpatine impossible. In other words, the Jedi thought the Republic's democracy was so far gone that the situation called for the overthrow of the goverment and its replacement by a Force-sensitive autocrat. Hmmm, sounds strangely familiar.
