	Title I'm surprised, because Adywan's project for his massive overhaul of Star Wars has been going on for ages. And his complete cut of EPIV is freely available for download. What I want to know is how come 20th century fox/lucasfilm haven't made any attempt to stop Adywan or cease the distribution of his edits. I like the edits personally, but i am perplexed as how someone can go on so long, offering star wars for free, without the lawyers catching up with him.

As long as doesn't charge anything, he can stay out of trouble. But you can be sure that LFL knows about him, what he did, and what he's doing. 	As others have stated, it's the free factor. I believe a lot of stuff can go on that may seem to violate copyright laws, but as long as no money is being made then it is not in violation of those laws. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. -----signature----- Elämä on

	but surely someone is annoyed that what is still essentially ANH and TESB* is offered for free on the internet? If not, I want the complete Park Wars movie, as that was stopped for only using TPM's full audio - the video was 100% self-made. Something doesn't add up here. (*he didn't finish RotJ yet, did he? 	LFL generally doesn't mind fan projects, but you're right - this does seem to be one where they would want to throw in a cease and desist, considering Adywan is distributing the films freely. 	As far as I understand, it is legal as long as its free - as has been mentioned - and every single person that downloads it must already own the source material, i.e. the 2004 DVDs. Now, how LFL could possibly know if the downloaders own it or not is another matter entirely...

	It is a mystery. Copyright protection is investigated even when there is no monetary gain, and if Lucas doesn't take action, he stands to lose his copyright to it. 	The only cool change he made is adding lights to Vader's chestbox and removing the redness in his eye lenses. I am surprised nothing is being done about this edit by LucasFilm. It has become well-known. I hope they take action soon.

	When you think about it, this wouldn't really be worth it to them. Who sees this edit? Star Wars fans on the internet. 	Well, I think if more and more fans know about it, they might not so readily buy the soon to be released box sets. We could argue that the edits won't have as much worth to fans because they're "free"... but we can take into account the searching, downloading, waiting period, and it may make up for the lack of money necessary, creating that sense of "worth."
