I'm just wondering...

1. Where is the first Death Star located when we first see it in ANH? When the Devastator arrives and Tarkin announces the dissolvement of the Senate? Could it be the Horuz system, mentioned in the Radio Drama and the X-Wing game? However, Tarkin could've moved the station anywhere he wanted after he destroyed the original planet (again, as seen in the video game), so I think it's still an opened question.

...also...

2. What do you think of the system seen at the very begining of TESB? A distant planet with two small moons? I think the system was never officially named, but I was thinking if it could be one of the systems we've seen previously? The moons could orbit any planet (Coruscant, Utapau, etc) which would be off-screen in TESB. It could be an interesting retcon, if anyone would bother...

...also...

3. The system where Death Squadron (Executor and her fleet) assembles. Must it be the same system as 2.? I think that the ISD that launches the probes is said to be part of the fleet, and present on Hoth, however it could've arrived later, after launching the probes from just about anywhere in the galaxy. So, I think it's possible these are different locations (not necessarily, but possibly).

...also...

4. Where does Tantive IV wait for Kenobi in ROTS? Have you noticed a nebular field in the background? The novelization says Tantive first jumped to Kashyyyk and rescued Yoda, and then made contact with Kenobi. However, I guess they wont be just hanging around Kashyyyk... It would be nice to know where that nebula is!

...finally...

5. Where is the Death Star being constructed at the end of ROTS? I know Despayre is the name of the planet in official sources, but could it be a completely different system we see in the movie?
On some concept art I've seen, there should've been a greenish planet in the background, which looked nothing like the red planet from X-Wing video game. I didn't read the "Death Star" novel, and I wonder if they tried to reconcile all of this. Could it be that Despayre was stripped of resources and even its atmosphere, leaving it an arid wasteland? Why this never happened to Endor is another question... happy

And yeah, sorry if there is already a topic on this, I'm new! :P

No idea tongue but

I think #2 may have been a Trivia question once, though I certainly don't remember the answer. Maybe it oinly asked for the name of the ship...

and for #5 I can only say the Death Star novel starts much later and it's over Despayre already, so it doesn't include the answer you seek

All in all, they're just shown to be "in space" with no thought to their exact location, let alone named ones. As you point out, that's kind of a nightmare for those who want to know.

I always thought that in TESB all that we see that takes place on Hoth was in the Hoth System.

In Death Star, Darth Vader arrived aboard the station right after Despayre was destroyed. So, assuming that the station wasn't moved prior to Vader's arrival, we can guess that it's still in the Horuz System.

Horuz system sounds very familiar and I don't know why, but I'm inclined to believe it's correct. tongue

#5 should be above Despayre, since according to the novel the hyperspace engines weren't finished until after it had been in the system, so presumably it started there as well. I don't think tug-boating a partially built Death Star into hyperspace would work very well tongue

As for the others... I haven't ever seen anything that names these systems.
