What happened to the burned corpses of Beru and Owen? Did Luke just leave them there, smoldering? Do you think he buried them? How do you think they died? Were they incinerated or shot with a powerful blaster? The homestead took quite a beating as well, so I doubt it was simple blaster fire. Is this the most morbid thread ever?

Is that a guess or is it written someplace? I wonder if there is a book that goes into small details like this. Covers all the little details that nobody really thought much about.

Ha ha, no... because this was discussed in quite a bit of morbid detail somewhere here before. wink Anyway, I believe the entire homestead was set on fire with flamethrowers while Owen and Beru were still inside. One EU source even has it that Owen caused things to escalate to that point (flamethrowers) by spitting in the face of the stormtrooper captain that was in charge of the troopers who were tearing apart the homestead looking for the droids and/or the missing plans. I'd guess Owen is in the front, falling on his stomach, because I can picture him charging out of the homestead to kick the stormtrooper's asses and then be set on fire.

In the novel Tatooine Ghost, Leia is talking to Beru's sister who remarks that the tombstones of Owen and Beru are near the farm. Luke never returned to the farm after ANH, so it is logical that he buried them before returning to Obi-Wan.

I agree with the burial statement. As for the manner of their death, I'd say they were shot and then burned along with the homestead.

Time-wise from the movie, it doesnt look like he did. Look at the time Obi-Wan, 3CPO and R2 spent just dragging out and burning a few Jawas. Owen and Beru were still smoldering and hot, not easy to move. And how many hours would have passed digging two graves by himself ? The time sequence of events dont look like they add up.

To point something out: If Owen had come charging out of the house and had then been shot by people to his front, he would've fallen back down the stairs. More likely they were running to escape and got lit up from the left or right.

Obi-Wan and the droids spend quite a long time by the remains of the sandcrawler, long enough, in fact, for another sandcrawler to see the smoke and stop by to scavenge what they could from the wreckage. In fact, during this, Threepio remarks that Luke has been gone for a long time and is starting to worry about him.
