Just got through watching Episode IV...C-3PO has a little stabilizer bar thing on his left arm that connects his upper arm with his forearm. I noticed it when he was arguing with R2-D2 on Tatooine. I don't think I saw it on his right arm, though I could be wrong. This doesn't seem like something they would put in the suit right away. Was it added later on?

Nope. It is on both arms, and always has been.

Things I missed until many viewings? I failed to noticed Owen & Beru's charred remains in the scene where Luke returns to the homestead after he and Obi-Wan find the gutted sandcrawler. I think I only saw these on the re-release leading up to the release of TPM - and I'd seen ANH countless times before that, from 1977 on.

I've watched A New Hope I don't know how many times and I've just noticed that the Falcon sitting in Docking Bay 94 does not have it's Radar Dish on top. Maybe this will be corrected in future DVD/Blu-ray releases.

This one's kind of cheating, but I for the longest time, I had only seen the Pan and Scan versions of the OT. Then when the SE's came out on video, I got the wide screen and finally saw the Sandperson that Luke saw when watching them with 3PO.

"Well there are two Banthas there, but I don't see any...wait, there's sandpeople, I can see one of them now." But, its not visible in the P&S, so I never saw it. Always wondered what he was seeing.

The moral of the story, P&S=bad. Always buy Widescreen, or Original Aspect Ratio if you please.

"What would Hitler do?"
And then, you know, do the opposite.

After watching Star Wars numerous, numerous, numerous times, I didn't notice that C-3PO has a chrome replacement piece on his right shin until I saw a picture of him in one of those visual dictionary books.

I just noticed this after watching ANH hundreds of times. You need a very clear image to see it though, I doubt you could see it on VHS. In the scene where the unconscious Luke is dragged back to his landspeeder by the Tusken Raiders, if you look on the side of the hill behind the landspeeder you will see a sort of carving in the wall. I can't quite tell if it's supposed to be a person or what, but it's clearly been carved there by someone. Very interesting.

Same here. It was always really confusing until I got the widescreen DVDs.

I noticed that! And I was like "wth?". But I saw it on the Special Edition so I thought they had missed his back shin when re-colouring him or something.

Wow. The Rebel girl I think I remembered, because I slowmo'd/screenshot the scene one time to ask about the ... Dressellians, I think.

But that stuff in the rocks ... is new applause

Wow there is a drawing on there! I'm not sure if it's a person though. How did you notice that?! It shows what you start to notice once you watch something a gazillion times.

I just happened to notice it after a bunch of viewings. I needed to see it on DVD to get the clarity it needs. The cool thing is it could be from a source other than the crew making the movie. Maybe some indigenous people of that area of the world did it.
