It wasn't until after many many viewings that I noticed Luke crying as Vader's armor is being burned at the end of RotJ.

HD has really cleared some things up so to speak.

Indeed, I would love to see the films in HD. I love HD TV. And I've never noticed Luke crying either...

It just occurred to me that Bib Fortuna was nowhere to be found when Leia was strangling Jabba. Wasn't Bib on the sail barge too?

That cave art or whatever it is is fantastic. I'd never noticed that before.

for me it was the blooper scene when the storm trooper bops his head on the blast door in the Death Star.

I had watch ANH countless times and never noticed it. until someone brought it so my attention and I can't get over how I had missed it. it's so obvious lol.

I completely missed the yellow astromech droid going from right to left covering the whole screen as it moves by when Ben and Luke are stopped by stormtroopers in Mos Eisley.
I guess the 100+ times I've seen it I'm always staring at the stormtroopers.
I thought it was an addition to the special edition. I checked the original version and its still there. How I missed it is beyond me.

There were originally two droids that roll past in that shot. One was the white and green R2-A5 who was covered up by a ronto in the SE. The other was the yellow R5-A2 who remains in the scene.

This one's kind of cheating, but I for the longest time, I had only seen the Pan and Scan versions of the OT. Then when the SE's came out on video, I got the wide screen and finally saw the Sandperson that Luke saw when watching them with 3PO.

"Well there are two Banthas there, but I don't see any...wait, there's sandpeople, I can see one of them now." But, its not visible in the P&S, so I never saw it. Always wondered what he was seeing.

The moral of the story, P&S=bad. Always buy Widescreen, or Original Aspect Ratio if you please.

I 100% Agree...

I never could get what Luke was seeing either-UNTIL I had widescreen!

Same with the second shot of the AT-ST in TESB (when Luke lifts his head after falling from the AT-AT) and the second stormtrooper that gets shot by Leia toward the end of ROTJ. I remember on TV there would be times they would clearly show all of those things and I wondered why my VHS didn't.

So, that brings the grand total of black actors in the OT to......TWO!!

There are also some black guys in Jabba's palace.

And another 2 in Cloud City that aren't Lando, there's also an asian dude in Cloud City too.

Including the ice cream man. grin

Yeah, it was a while before I noticed that, too.

ANH: Just as Luke & Co are getting into Mos Eisley (1973 ANH, not 1997 ANH) off to the left there is a short alien whose silverish face bears resemblance to the pod racer Ody Mandrell.

ANH: pre-Battle of Yavin, the Y-Wing's forward laser rolls as the pilot gets in.

ROTJ: In the upper right of the DSII hanger bay establishing shot (first scene), there is a suspended laser battery similar to that on the Trade Federation ship which destroyed the Radiant VII.

ROTJ: A TIE flyby established that the Emperor's throne room is atop a tower on DSII. But later, there is no glimpse of DSII as Emperor and/or Luke look out at the space battle. The filmed implication is that their venue was "in space", and not on a tower that was relatively low to the surface of a very large moon-size space station.

Oops, ANH 1977. All this glorious widescreen has made me forget myself.

The white tape repair on the Stormtrooper uniform when Leia is being presented to Vader at the beginning of ANH that magically appears for the close-up.

The female pilot in ROTJ is actually in the flying sequences too. I believe she's in an A-Wing (?). And IIRC she's visible right after Wedge says "Red 3, Red 2, pull in." She says, "Copy" but her voice is dubbed by a man.

Check out 2:32 here.
