	I think that a lot of us were a bit disappointed to see another rebel attack on another Death Star in ROTJ. While it was a great space battle and flying into the superstructure was very cool, overall it was something we had basically seen already in ANH. A few of my friends have commented over the years that they'd wished Lucas had come up with something different or more original than "yet another death star to blow up". I was hoping to hear some thoughts on what could have been better or more creative in your opinions for the main plot/final battle of ROTJ. -----signature----- The misconceptions you had about Star Wars, when you were a kid: "As if millions of oysters had cried out in terror...and were suddenly silenced."

	I don't know if you remember, but Jedi DID have that little "Luke almost getting killed by the Emperor with Darth Vader finally releasing himself from the clutches of the Dark Side by saving Luke's life" subplot. And sorry, but it WASN'T something we had already seen in ANH. Not only was the air attack completely different, but there was also Han and Leia destroying the force sheild generator. Personally, I'm in the "Return of the Jedi was perfectly made and shouldn't be changed one bit" camp, but that's just me... -----signature----- Hey...who's scruffy looking?!

	Lucas perhaps should have gone with his original idea of two Death Stars for ROTJ. It would have been a more interesting battle had the Rebels had to deal with two planet destroying battlestations rather than one. 	2 Death Stars was lucas's original concept? If that's the case then I think it shows just how much he was struggling to come up with something new. But honestly, I really don't feel that "double more of the same" is any better than "more of the same". How necessary is another spherical super-laser space station to the overall plot really? there basically just needs to be some target or scenario that leads the rebel fleet into a massive trap right? That could be accomplished with something like a large scale attack on the emperor himself, or some planet or star system that is uniquely threatened by the empire and needs immediate rebel help. 	I thini ROTJ was fine. In fact to me it seemed completely logical that the Empire would rebuild that thing. Thought the time they rebuilt it in is a bit dubious. 	Kup Durron. And yeah, a sun destroying weapon seems like the only way to one-up a planet killer. But honestly I like the idea of attacking imperial center more. It seems more creative than another "sink the bismarck" type plot, when we had just seen that in ANH. As for rebuilding the death star being logical...I don't know, it never seemed all that logical to me. It was like, "We just poured billions into this ultimate weapon and it was destroyed as soon as it became operational. 	I'd set the conflagration on Naboo, so everything comes full circle. Ground battle--The Rebels infiltrate and destroy the Clone Factory (I'm assuming the Stormtroopers were human conscripts) Palace--Leia gets in on the family reunion Space battle--The Rebel Fleet takes on the Executor (and almost loses)

	I think Lucas had it right with the infiltration plotline, but like others have said having the rebels storm the Imperial throne world would've been preferable to what he got. I think the second Death Star run is impressive from a technical perspective, but overall I completely agree that it was a very poor decision to lift this plot from the first film. -----signature----- Rollerball (1975) > Star Wars (1977)

	Second Death Star should have been replaced with a giant star destroyer docking station around Endor. This station could have been pivotal to the Empire's war-fighting capabilities and still a trap for the Rebellion. Also on the surface the forests could be getting destroyed for materials so that we really felt for the Ewoks. And the Rebel could still have flown into the reactor core of the docking station for the finale explosion. Would have worked a lot better than DSII and still would have avoided Coruscant(which let's face it, at the time just wasn't practical for 1983 special effects) -----signature----- Did you press the stop button?
