It's a pretty solid top five, but Uhura is too low IMO.

Rose Tyler and Dana Scully hardly "shook" Sci-Fi. Not that convinced about Starbuck either. Uhura should be at least number 2 in that list.

Buffy??? Whatever.
Yes, I agree Uhura should be higher on the list for sure.

I can see Buffy being up there bearing in mind when it started (including the Kirsty Swanson film).
But Uhura was groundbreaking - probably moreso than anyone else on that list

Buffy is the reason we have so many SF TV shows now. It also made female nerd culture go mainstream. That's why you get all the emphasis on philia now, because some women are fascinated with male friendships. (This is also the explanation for slash fiction.) So the Special Edition added more philia (the Luke/Wedge hug) to ROTJ, a movie largely about storge, with a dash of Han/Leia eros. ROTS emphasized philia (Anakin/Obi-Wan) and eros (Anakin/Padmé). Of course, eros is still the dominant love of Western art.

Come on Fisher should have been #1. Not because I like Star Wars but she kicked the door open for all other strong female leads in Film & t.v. end of story.

Theres many animated characters like Motoko kusanagi that should be on this list.
,Padme at 26
Megan Fox and Cheerleader shouldn't be on any top lists.
Halle Barry was awful as Storm, how much did fox pay to get her on this.
Buffy's to high,I always thought she was annoying and Gellar wasn't much of an actress. The whole cast is what made that show what it was.I'd say the X-Files is the reason theres so many Scifi shows on TV.
Uhura's not much of a character, but she made a huge impact which should place her higher on the list.

I thought you said Misato Katsuragi. I mean, if we're going to include animated characters. But there the fanservice is lampshaded.

Some of the choices were pretty good, even if they were numbered incorrectly. But some of them... whatever.

16) KATHRYN JANEWAY (Kate Mulgrew, Star Trek: Voyager)
IIRC, Seven of Nine (born Annika Hansen), was a little more shaky, heh.
