IIRC, Seven of Nine (born Annika Hansen), was a little more shaky, heh.

Yeah, but then you're reminded of the most out-of-nowhere Voyager storyline: C/7. How?

(BTW, I hate Chakotay too.)

Hey, I just noticed, "Annika" is an anagram for "Anakin". (Well, I didn't just notice.) They're both diminutives of Anna, though.

Buffy is the reason we have so many SF TV shows now. It also made female nerd culture go mainstream. That's why you get all the emphasis on philia now, because some women are fascinated with male friendships. (This is also the explanation for slash fiction.) So the Special Edition added more philia (the Luke/Wedge hug) to ROTJ, a movie largely about storge, with a dash of Han/Leia eros. ROTS emphasized philia (Anakin/Obi-Wan) and eros (Anakin/Padmé). Of course, eros is still the dominant love of Western art.

Buffy is not a science-fiction character.

I would have liked to see meteor freak-obsessed, Wall of Weird, paranormal investigative reporter Chloe Sullivan from Smallville on the list. She's a heck of a lot more deserving than Megan Fox, at least.

She's more of a parody of horror, but most people put science fiction, fantasy, and horror (true horror, not "let's splash around blood") in the same genre.

Padmé should be No.1 in the twenty-five women who ruined Sci-Fi.

Padme did not ruin Star wars.

I do like that Princess Leia is on the list.

Padme didn't ruin Sci-Fi.

She was just a badly written characters. THe first two movies she was this strong and inspiring woman...yet in the third film she "dies of a broken heart". Doesn't make sense.

The Force did it. Anakin killed her with his unstable emotions and basically brainwashed her, at least that's how it goes in the novelization.

I thought you said Misato Katsuragi. I mean, if we're going to include animated characters. But there the fanservice is lampshaded.

Perverts every where gasp as no EVA characters make the list laugh .Misato's a good character but I think the Major's better and her fan service fits the story more then Misato's.

She was a strong and inspiring woman who was ultimately built on sand because while she was off doing grand and important things she managed to completely ignore her own needs in the process. Then bad-boy Anakin comes along and well, that was all she wrote. tongue

At least I'm pretty sure that's what happened. There was a scene in Jedi Temple where Anakin was meditating, and there was very strong implications that Anakins "force" of will was what kept Padme attracted to him.

There was nothing of the sort in the ROTS novel.
