	As you all know Lucas plans to re-release Star Wars A New Hope in 3D http://www.wired.com/underwire/2008/07/george-lucas-co/ The question is can it catch Titanic for it's combined gross at $600 million domestic it would need $140 million http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=releases&id=starwars4.htm http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/domestic.htm That would put it back at the top as the highest grossing movie of all time. 	I'd say it probably does. Even though it'll only be in select theaters, making $140 million seem like a lot, the tickets are more costly in these types of theaters. People will also still flock to it, since it is Star Wars after all, especially since it's in 3-D. 	So they're finally doing this? Any news on a release date? As for it beating Titanic....probably not. There's a huge gap between ANH's 797,900,000 overall gross and Titanic's 1.8 billion overall figure. I'm counting international gross because that matters as well-people in other countries do, in fact, watch movies and pay for it. But-who cares. A New Hope was voted culturally significant and is one of the films preserved in the Library Of Congress. Titanic...was not. Also, random facts: ANH cost 11 million to make (14 million, with the SE add-ons). It has made 797,900,000 dollars, so for every dollar spent making it, it's made about 56.99 back. Titanic cost 200 million to make. It has made 1.8 billion dollars, so it's made about 9.24 cents for every dollar it cost to make. Studios don't particularly care about overall box office gross; they care about how much money they see back from their investment in the film. In other words, ANH rules the roost as far as money invested/money returned goes by a margin of about 6 to 1. -----signature----- Only a Prime can defeat Vader and his Emperor.

	Lucas is hanging back until pretty much every cinema has a digitial screen. Thats whats taking the time, IMO. He could have got this out already, probably, but he's waiting for the technology to catch up. Which means when this does finally come out some time in the next decade, I reakon $140m is achievable. -----signature----- I felt a great disturbance in the force. 	Well its actually lottery funded, but governent co-ordinated. I.E. the government has told the lottery to allocate a set amount of funds for this project. And looking into this further it appears that happily the project is completed with 250 digital cinmea screens/projectors fitted in cinemas across the nation. So, we're ready for Star Wars 3D even if nobody else is. Come on George lets get it on! -----signature----- I felt a great disturbance in the force.
