Well the cost isn't cheap

so about $9,375,000 for ANH, according to my trusty Iphone calculator.

well...at least it still has a higher investment to profit margin than Titanic does. tongue

That would be a pretty good return on investment I would think, the advertising might cost more than the movie.

But I have always wanted to see the original star war on IMAX, 3D or otherwise.

I am just making a guess but if ANH & TESB went on IMAX, I am guessing 99% of people who frequent TFN would go.

Is there anybody that wouldn't go?

If there is anyone on TFN who wouldn't go, then what the hell are they doing here?

I doubt it has a chance, [removed].

BAC EDIT: Let's discuss the films, not the fans.

The only reason I wouldn't like SW in 3D would be that every time I put those goofy glasses over mine I get a headache during the whole movie. Would it be worth it? Probably it is Star Wars after all.

I'm pretty sure they said it was a kind of 3D that didn't require goofy glasses. Do you even need digital theaters for that old way of pseudo-3D?

My eyes are messed up so 3D things only appear blurry to me.

Magic. Probably the industrial kind
Hey, I'm just going by fuzzy memory anyway, but if I'm not mistaken someone said it will be different than that old method.

The new 3-D is actually teleportation.

It'll sure be surprising when we're all actually on Tattooine, running like heck from Tusken Raiders. tongue

My biggest fear of a set of 3D movies is the addition of gratuitous changes (again) for the sake of making stuff jump out at you. I have a bad feeling about this...

Yes, I don't especially relish the idea of ASP and mouse droids hamming it up in 3D, as Lucas chuckles behind his hand at all the light-hearted comedy he's inserted gratuitously into the newest version of his "work-in-progress". Fix Jabba and the light sabers, if you have to do anything, and have done with it already!!

That said, the Battle of Yavin in 3D would be positively electrifying, and I hope this comes to pass.

No. I saw Creature From The Black Lagoon in the early 90s in 3-D.
