Was watching ESB on spike on hear something I never have before. When Chewy is working on 3po right before 3PO say "stromtroopers here" he cuts off right when he is back on he says "no" then sounds and says "they no our secert". Says it really fast. What secert? Maybe Chewy hit on some lost data from the prequel days.

Threepio was completely wiped. He doesn't remember a thing from his time with Anakin and Padme. What you heard, if it wasn't gibberish, was what he heard the Stormtroopers say about being discovered by him.

Good idea. I know about the memory. The post was more of a tongue in cheek post.

Consider that in the early 80s, George hadn't yet considered taht 3PO was created by Anakin or had to have his memory wiped. It's all gibberish that Ben Burtt probably came up with.

He says:
"Mmmm. Oh, my. Uh, I, uh - Take this off! I, uh, don't mean to intrude here. I, don't, no, no, no... Please don't get up. No!"

And then:
"Stormtroopers? Here? We're in danger. I must tell the others. Oh, no! I've been shot!"

The guy above me got it right. When I was a teenager I took the line and slowed it down on my computer and its actually the exact same line that 3PO says when he first sees the stormtrooper before getting shot.

Great thread. I heard Threepio correctly the first time around, in 1980. That Jundland wastes line from ANH, well I never did figure that one out until the DVD. Thank God for subtitles. applause

Yup. I thought it went something like "A gentleman wastes time to travel lightly" or something along those lines.

Heh, I listened to it again. It does sound like it could be "The Gentlemen wastes are not to be traveled lightly". laugh Ewww, what a thought. worried

Its probably the way Lucas told him to pronounce it. Lucas has a weird way of pronouncing some of his creations. Fortunately, most of the other actors dont pay attention to his pronounciations and pronounce things more correctly, following the rules of English. tongue
