Though he didn't know his mom. What was Luke told about her if anything.

Uncle Owen prob said something to him while growing up,"Your mother died before you were Born, now get back to work and get them chores done!"

Seriously, they got Luke as a baby...Im suprised they never brought him up as their own kid.

I cant imagine Luke at 1-2 years old saying Dadda or Daddy! and Owen going "no,Im not your daddy,Im your uncle!"

Oh well!

Your mother died before you were Born

Um... that's kinda difficult.

And if a baby hears "aunt" and "uncle" instead of "mommy" and "daddy", he'll repeat the ones he hears.

You're **** right I did... along with, "you can waste time with your friends later," and, "they'll be hell to pay."

I also told him his momma looked great in a crop-top and tight spandex, but then Beru punched me in the mouth.

That's hilarious! It reminds me of a song (more a satirical put-up-and-shut-up tribute to American patriotism, but what the heck):

Elvis Presley - He's Your Uncle, Not Your Dad

I have a great admiration for George. These films are very well-intentioned. All right, they make tremendous amounts of money and appeal to kids, but they say good things, and they say them in a broad way. I believe in the Star Wars films.

So when Ben tells Luke about his father, why didn't Luke ask if Ben (Or Ben tells Luke about his Mother) knew who was his mother. Lost opportunity there.

Beru's a frontier woman; she's rough on her boys.

You'd think Luke would ask Ben out of curiosity - or that Obi-Wan, having been a friend of hers, would have mentioned her because she was a pretty amazing woman in her own right. But it had nothing to do with the storyline - as Anakin's Jedi talents and feats did not - so we didn't get to hear about any of it. Those types of details are the first ones that get slapped out of the writing of a script as they pass through the mind - details without any application to forwarding the plot.

Ben would have ending up telling another Lie or a POV twisted truth if they had written the script that way.GL was lucky/or smart he decided to leave alot of stuff out,so he could re-write the loose ends in the future movies and books.

Dont forget, from what we seen in the movies,Luke was told his father was(dammit I forget...a pilot on a space freighter or some b*) so who knows what else he was told about his mother through Uncle Owen or Aunt Beru.

Luke may very well have asked, just not in a scene we saw. It could have been between any number of scenes that the two were in together, such as when Luke was training, or even in ROTJ. After all, in ROTJ, Obi-Wan doesn't disappear at the end of their conversation. He's still materialized when the scene cuts away, so a conversation could've been held after that.

It's altogether possible Ben told him his mother died in childbirth. This might've been the only truthfull thing he told Luke seeing as how he lied about his father and never told Luke he had a sister, while on Tatooine anyway.
