RE: The misconceptions you had about Star Wars, when you were a kid.
When I first saw ANH, I thought Han's name was Hand Solo. I also thought that lightsabers were actually lightsavers. Plus, when Ben was making the sound to scare the Raiders away from Luke, I thought he was already running away from a monster that was making the sound. As a matter of fact, my friend thought that Ben made the sound because he was a monster! lol
In ESB, I thoguht Wedge died in the battle of Hoth, so when I saw ROTJ, I was wondering why Wedge was alive. When Luke got his new hand at the end of the movie, it looked so natural on him that I thought his first hand was really cybernetic also.
When I first saw ROTJ, I thought that Jabba's sail barge was actually his palace, and that the shot of his palace was just there for scenery. When I was young I didn't know what aliens came from what planet, so on Endor I thought that Chewie was related to the Ewoks because they seemed to understand what he was grunting sometimes.

When I first saw ANH I thought Leia really had buns on her head. I tried to hairpin buns to my head the next day.
And I could never connect the Leia had come to save Han in a costum. Never. Don't know why.

YEah, I could never connect that Leia to save Han costume either. I also couldn't figure out why Luke was such a bada$$ when he got to Jabba's palace in ROTJ. I mean, we only see him levitate rocks while doing a handstand then he is supposed to be some kind of jedi knight???? When did this happen GL?

I use to think the the second death start was just the left overs of the first one that blew up. I didnt realise that a) it was called the Second Death Star and b) that the bits missing were not because it blew up but because it wasnt built yet.

The first time I saw ESB, during the scene with Luke and Vader - when Luke falls in the carbon freezing pit and shoots right back out I asked my friend "How'd he do that?" His replay was "He used the force. Duh." Then I said, "What? Oh that's stupid."
To me the shot looked really fake, I don't know why. I could tell that they sped up his leap to make it look like he was jumping out really fast. Plus, I really didn't know what the force could do for you. I called it bad cinematography. Now I call it awesome.

I thought when obi wan was stuck down the lightsaber vaporized him...
When I saw a lightsaber duel I thought, this is science fiction, why not use blasters?
When I was on a school bus, a kid say he was going to cut me in half with lifesavers. I was like, how the hell can a candy do that...?
I pretty much confused all the episodes together... so at first I didnt know who is getting his hands cut off...
When I saw a trailer of "a phantom menance" I was like, huh?
When I saw The phantom Menance, I thought Anakin skywalker was Luke's kid! (cause I thought it was after Return of the Jedi)
And I pronounced it JeDee
I thought lightsabers were useless (therefore didnt use it when I played "Jedi Knights") because you could just shoot someone with blasters... didnt know about the blaster blocking function of them...
And with a little photoshop... Obi Wan becomes a dark jedi... heres why...

Oh and also when I saw Episode I, the Phantom Menance, I was expecting princess Leia because it said it was Episode I. And I thought Episode I meant a new hope. I thought Queen Padme was princess Leia... and that she was just in Alderaan...

When Luke is talking to Obi-Wan in his house I always thought Luke said, "Look, I can take you as far as Anchorhead
most likely
, or where ever you are going."

When I was younger and watching ESB, in the Battle of Hoth I would always hear Luke talking about the 'toe' cables because they were using them on the toes of the Imperial walkers. I thought it was rather silly to have a tool/weapon that only had one use--what else can you use a 'toe' cable on?
Yeah, of course years later I figured out it was
tow
cables.

I think the biggest thing that struck me was to learn that star wars I II and III were in fact IV V VI, and that they would be some new films I II III that took place before (obviously). yep, it took me a while to accept that, lol , I even got my dad to rent the films to see it for myself , lol. but that, was a long time ago....

when I was little the olympic skater Scott Hamilton was really popular. I always confused Mark Hamil and Scott Hamilton. For the longest time I could never figure out why the guy who played "Luke" was in the ice capades.

Wtih the part where Ben's saber vanishes, I thought for the longest time that he had shortened the blade, like supposedly Vader can do with his, down to a little light point, or whatever.

at first i thought they were 'life savers' and went on wondering why the life savers wernt circular and why you couldnt eat them (lol like the candy - i was addicted to those) then became life sabers like they took your life force and turned it into a blade. then lightsabers.
and i was about 4 or 5 when i first watched it (im now 18) and i was hiding under the blanket when i was watching ROTJ because the aliens were so scary and mum and dad were watching it in the dark.

RE: The misconceptions you had about Star Wars, when you were a kid.
I temporarily started a thread on this, but for those of you who haven't read it, here's a good one:
Up until last week, I was STILL uncertain of this misconception that I held since the age of 6:
In ROTJ, when Vader picks up the Emperor and then tosses him down the shaft, I swore that the old crone was shouting: "ANAKIN!!!!" instead of "AAAAARRRGGHHHHH!"
Weird, huh?
As someone else said, it WOULD have been funny if I thought he was screaming: "POWER! UNLIMITED POWER!!!" as he was falling to his death.
