i saw the digitally remastered versions as im only 14 and wasnt born at the time of the originals. lol everytime we came out of the cinema (when i was really really young) my dad kept breathing like vader and i thought he was darth cool . i also thought that the meaning of 'bounty hunter' was to hunt for bountys as in the chocolate bar tongue

I remember after the rerelease of ANH I was only five and my mom bought me and my sister lightsabers. When I opened mine and found it had a blue glow I was like"What flavor is it Mom?" Of course I had thought they were lifesavers.

They my sister hit me in the back of the head with hers and explained.

I always found it weird that C-3PO turned hippy all of a sudden during ESB when the crew is about to fly into the astroid. I always thought he said. "Excuse me man, but where are we going?"

kay...this isn't mine but the other day me and my friend were talking about seeing SW when we were like...7. When Wicket leads Leia away my friend thought they were gonna rape her. I'll never get over that shock.

I remember, when i saw TPM i was like 6...when Darth Maul came on screan i went to dad and said..."IS THAT WHAT DARTH VADER LOOKS LIKE UNDER HIS HELMET??!!!"

Can you imagine his reaction!

I know my younger cousin thinks its...Dark Vader!lol!

I thought Obi Wan Kenobi was Luke's real father and Vader was lying to make him come to the Dark Side. I never really grasped that Ben was Obi-wan I thought they were brothers or related some other way. I also remember thinking Han Solo was a jedi that just didn't believe in the force anymore.

I kept thinking that Darth Vader really had killed Lukes dad, and was messing with his mind. Wasn't there a large amount of speculation about this? Was it true, or another lie of Darth Vader? Well, I didn't want it to be true, at any rate.

Man- I thought that too. I looked like he died from exhaustion or something. "My job is finished. The Empire will crumble. I may die now..." laugh

I ALSO thought that Tarkin was called Tuk. Carrie Fisher sure said it like that.

My 2 misconceptions.

1. What Anakin said in the RotS trailer (I think it was "A Hero Falls" musical)

What i thought he said: "Something's happening, about the Jedi i should be."
I thought that made little to no sense, but then i heard what he really said:

Anakin: Something's happening, i'm not the Jedi i should be."
Then, to me, it made perfect sense.

Then i thought that Jedi got their lightsabers from the Jedi Store where they would select their own hilt and their own choice of blade color (green or blue). (Even the Sith went to their own Sith store where they would buy their own selection of saber hilt)

In ROTJ in the rancor pit I always thought Luke threw a rock at the control button. It was only with in the past 2 years that I discovered that it was actualy a human skull. Whoa. Kind a dark there...

I was completely lost in terms of the chronology, I had no idea when things were happening! I read the novelizations before I saw the movies, but I still got a little confused.
And I never could tell the differnece between Star Wars and Star Trek.

wow, this is a great thread, i only just noticed it...the main misconception i had when i was younger was that the millenium falcon and the USS enterprise were the same thing...i had this big plastic toy millenium falcon, and i think i always thought of it as "that star trek toy." can't blame me really, they look the same...it was given away at a garage sale or something a long time ago though, it's just when i looked back on it a few months ago i realized i used to have a toy millenium falcon cry

I used to think that the reason Obi-Wan vanished in A New Hope was because Vaders' saber disintegrated him.
