Then I guess you read a lot more into the "outgassing" scene.

My misconceptions:

1. I could have sworn that there was a Death Star in every movie and thus each movie was about blowing up a Death Star. I guess two out of three ain't bad.
2. I remembered thinking that lightsabers disintegrated their victims. Ben disappeared after he was killed and I thought that the creature in the cantina also vaporized since we only saw the severed arm, not the body.
3. I didn't call them lightsavers, I called them lightsaviours.
4. It took me a long time to figure out what everyone had against the Ewoks.
5. It also took me a while to realize why the death star was a somewhat ridiculous weapon since it takes a far less amount of energy to obliterate a biosphere vs. blowing up a planet.
6. I always thought Ben said "Colonial Wars", even though he quite clearly said Clone Wars. Since there were Colonial Warriors in Battlestar Galactica and the ships and special effects looked like they could be perfectly at home in Star Wars thanks to the same guy working on both, I figured that the Star Wars Colonial Wars must have been something like Galactica and was really looking forward to seeing them on film.

Some other observations that struck me funny as I grew older:
1. There's an Endor in the Bible, specifically the Witch of Endor who King Saul visited to have his fortune told. I thought she was a Dark Jedi and the ghost of Elijah who appeared there was a blue force ghost.
2. The chest pieces that the cohim priests wore in the illustrated picture bible looked a lot like Vader's chest piece. I figured Vader must have been a high priest of the Jedi as well as a pilot and warrior before turning to ebil.
3. Was horrified to visit a high-class seafood restaurant and saw dolphin and calamari on the menu. Parents had to explain to me that they weren't serving Flipper and Admiral Akbar.
4. Found out Muslims weren't just big fans of Mon Calamari when they were shouting "Allah Akbar".
5. Various knowing grins as I discover the movies that Lucas borrowed from when putting Star Wars together. "Hey, that's where he got it!" Latest one of those was watching Return of the King and the fight with the Oliphants. When one of those beasties went down with the tangled legs, I half-expected to see a snowspeeder fly by, shoot it in the neck and have it explode, fire and burnt oliphant meat everywhere.

Here's a misconception I only just remembered.

After the ANH opening crawl, before the Tantive IV and the Devastator appear, the camera settles over Tatooine and its two moons. For some reason, I always thought the distant moon was the Death Star, and the Devastator just took ages to get there from Tatooine.

I was 11 when A New Hope came out. I saw a commercial or two, but I didn't really know what the movie was about. Before I saw the movie, I remember thinking "this better not be a musical!" I don't know why I thought that.

This topic is making me LMAOROTFL!!!!!!! laugh because some of this misconseptions happeneed to me when I was little.I have a whole list.

I thought the sarlacc was called "the mouth" cause it is a giant mouth in the sand!

I got confused between the death star II, and the Executer from time to time, and whether vader palpy, and luke were on which one?

Ironiclly I used to think jar jar, and all aliens were bad guys, and it was humans against ufos, and it was called "starwires" when I was a toddler no joke!!! my youngest most embarrassing, incorrect starwars misconseption! did'nt know the diffence between starwars, and star Trek. Shame on me!!! shame_on_you

I refused to exept that it was boba fett that fell into the sarlacc, and it was just another skiff guard, (boba was my favorite character) and that boba fled into the desert.

I thought Boba Fett was pronounced Bobuh Feet, but spelled Boba fett.

Used to think a new hope, and the phantom menace were the same movie before I saw them, and the were both episode 1 because a new hope was made first but phantom menace is suposed to take place first, count Dooku was vader without a mask, maul was vader.

Dark vader

Lightsaver

jango, boba same people.

Little boba was a good guy held hostage.

Anikan was luke

The Y-wing that said i'm hit was shot by a super accurate shot from the death stars superlaser!

The trator beam that obi-wan shut off was the deathstars superlaser, and I never understood how they could fire it anyway if it was shut off.

Tracter beam meant superlaser.

Hey guys i've only liked starwars 5, and a half years, and I leared a lot in that time.

thats just a few of more to come! peace

When I was little I thought they never blew up the death star in ANH, cuz in ROTJ it looked like it was damaged a little.

I thought a lightsaber was called a lifesaver.

I thought stormtroopers were called storm roomers.

I thought leia should have been with Luke.

The Empire Strikes Back came out more than 20 years before Return of the King.

Do you mean that you think GL borrowed from the book?

I thought Boba Fett's name was Buba Fat. For a very long time. I also thought that Oola turned into that frog thing that Jabba eats when she drops into the rancor pit.

I thought the Stormtroopers were robots and then I thought they were aliens.

I thought Old Ben was about 200 years old.

I thought Palpatine was as old as Yoda.

I thought Vader was more powerful than the Emperor.

I was always wondering that if Darth Vader was Luke's dad, then where was the mother? .. I knew he had to have one(duh) and it really bugged me they never said what happened to her, except the exchange between Luke & Leia(when they referenced her). I was 8 years old and wasnt paying attention to the little details like that.

I thought Chewie was in some way related to Han.Yes..I know, but after seeing them creatures in ANH..I was confused and thought it was possible that they could be brothers..from different mothers of course. laugh I thought Chewie's "hair" was his uniform.

And strangely enough I don't even remember the emperor. I too thought Vader was the "Big Guy".

I can remember thinking whne I was much younger that Luke just burned Darth Vader's helmet on the bonfire in ROTJ, good thing I found out it was Vader's whole body and not just the helmet.

I thought the Emperor's face looked like hamburger.

I called Chewbacca "Chewtabaca" because my grandpa was a fan of Red Man.

And, for some reason I neve got that Luke, Vader, and the Emperor were on the Death Star until I was older. I always thought they were by the shield generator.

I thought when Han said "good against remotes" he meant 'far away things'. And when he said "good against living", I thought he said/meant "good against a living" as in 'good against making money'.
