I also thought that Obi-Wan was O.B.1, as far as everything else, I didn't see the movies until the special editions came out when i was in 9th grade, so i prettymuch understood everything.

Also: The classic thinking that a lightsaber was a lifesaver, Darth Vader was Dark Vader, etc.
I used to wonder how C3PO would talk because his "mouth" never moved.

In ANH, I thought Ben said "colonial wars" instead of clone wars when he was talking to Luke about his father.

At the end of ANH when Luke and Han were getting their medals, I though the Empire was there as well blush

I thought the storm troopers, c3po, and r2d2 were all robots.

Definitely thought of lightsaver and Dark Vader.

Didn't quite understand all of the dialogue either but I still to this day love Han Solo.

I thought Obi-Wan was around 200 and Palpatine was as old as Yoda.

My 5-year old says "light-saver". It's too cute to try and correct.

When I first saw SW back in '77... I didn't catch that Vader righted his TIE fighter. I assumed that he just kept spinning and spinning.

When Luke tells Obi-Wan that he's glad to see him and Obi-Wan says "the Jundland Wastes are not to be traveled lightly", I always used to think he said "if a gentleman wastes enough to be traveled, likely". I sorta always made sense.

The reason that Empire was holding Leia hostage was not because of the whole Rebel Traitor, stole the Death Star plans thing, no, it was because she was a girl. Where did this idea come from? A mis-heard line of dialogue.

The actual line:

Stormtrooper 1: "You know what's going on?"
Stormtrooper 2: "Maybe its another drill."

What I heard as a kid:

ST1: "You know what's going on?"
ST2: "Maybe its another girl."

Hence my belief that the Empire was hell bent on simply imprisoning girls.

^ Yeah Senny nailed me on this one a couple of years ago.. I still didn't know the correct dialogue even then.
