jedimasterbac posted: When Luke tells Obi-Wan that he's glad to see him and Obi-Wan says "the Jundland Wastes are not to be traveled lightly", I always used to think he said "if a gentleman wastes enough to be traveled, likely". I sorta always made sense.
I used to think the same thing! I only realized what the actual line was when the DVD's came out and I put on the subtitles. Never thought to do it with the VHS versions for some reason...

I thought Lightsabers were called Light-Stabbers. Because you stab people with them.

I totally missed that Vader escaped, I thought he was blown up by Han!

ObiJohnKenobi posted: For ages I thought that when Obi Wan said there was no such thing as luck, Han got all offended because that was how he made his living:
BEN: In my experience, there's no such thing as luck.
HAN: Look, going against remotes is one thing. But going against a living? That's something else.
I had little or no idea what "remotes" were ... possibly something to do with remote possibilities.
Man I had a misconceptions until a few minutes ago when I read your post! I always thought Han said
"Good against remotes is one thing, good agaist the living is something else"
I never quite knew what he meant, "going" makes much more sense.
I love this thread!

Wait... I'm certain Han says "Good against remotes is one thing, good against the living is something else" He was referring to the fact that Luke defeated the remote with the blind shield down on his helmet.

I don't think Han Solo and good grammar are really synonymous...

I recall thinking, every time that Han Solo said in ANH ''...only ship to make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs.'' I could have sworn that he said 'castle run' until I read some of the books, I also thought that Han had won the Falcon from Lando in a speeder-bike race.
I also remember thinking when it shows the award ceremony in ANH after the Death Star was destroyed that Luke and Leia were getting married, and that Han was Luke's best man, but I realized I was wrong after the scene played out.
In ESB, I thought that the Wampa had a wife and that the roaring heard in the cave scene was it asking 'Honey, is that human dead yet?'
I thought TIE's had hyperdrives, both because of that lone TIE that was seen as they approached the Death Star in the Millenium Falcon was supposed to be a scout, and Luke suggested that it may have been part of a convoy that got seperated from the group, and because I thought Vader was flying a normal TIE, and that he used the hyperdrive to return to the Empire after the DSI was blown up.

When I was 4 or 5 back in 1985 I watched Empire and Return of the Jedi alot and I was too young to understand the story. I thought that Vader grew back his head after getting it sliced off by Luke on Dagobah and pow he's alive on his super star destroyer talking to the bounty hunters

Edhel posted: I used to think that the Stormtroopers were droids. And that Luke killed Vader on Dagobah, I didn't understand the face in the mask, or why Vader was still alive later in the film for that matter!
Also, I thought that Obi-Wan disappearing was a censorship thing because they weren't allowed to show him getting chopped in half!
Yeah, I always thought that Vader got killed by Luke on Dagobah, and when I saw Vader alive back on the Executor, I was always just like "How'd he get back alive, and back there??????"
Old_Brown_Shoe posted: I first saw the movies when I was 3 or so, and I had a terrible problem with the accents and figures of speech. When you think that Ben felt that "millions of oysters suddenly cried out in terror," or that Darth instructed Piett to "prepare the bowling party," well, it becomes clear that there was something else of interest beyond the dialogue.
^ROFL^
"Personally I always used to think that when Ben's sabre blade dissapeared in ANH his battery had run out."
Yeah, I always thought that his lightsaber was starting to die, or something. Lol.
"-I thought Star Wars and Star Trek were the same thing. (How unconceiveable! [face_shocked])"
Omgosh, how HORRIBLE! Well, I forgive you for that...
"OHHH and another bit was i never understood why Yoda's dying words were "there is...another.....sky...rock" instead he said "sky..walker" "
I always thought the part where he said "When gone am I,..." he actually said "With God am I" because hw was about to die, and he was like, going to Heaven or something. Lol. Idk. It was really weird.
And I always kinda thought that when Ackbar said "Prepare to jump into hyperspace on my mark", that he actually said "Prepare to jump into hyperspace ON MY MOM."
MoldyBread posted: I remember thinking that Oola - the dancer at Jabba's palace - fell into the hole in the floor, and then was turned into a frog. Then Jabba ate her.
Wow. That's a very weird thought. Lol. But now that I think about it, I think I thought something very similar to that.

Another one I remembered. In ANH, when Vader is about to start torturing Leia with the interrogation droid, we see the droid floating toward her, then the crash of the door closing and a cut to a guard walking away. I thought for a period, that Vader shape shifted into that guard, so it was him walking away, not just some random guy.

Looks like everyone thought that Vader grew back his head and popped up alive and well on his super star destroyer to see the bounty hunters when they were young to watch the movie. I guess at 3-5 years old at the time back then you actually believed that Vader had the ability to be at two places at once lol
