DarthGizmo posted:An odd one that I had. In the Empire of Dreams documentary GL states that he spoke to some psychologists about Vader's revelation to understand how kids would take it. They advised him that they would not believe Vader is Luke's father as young kids would refuse to believe that Luke's father could be evil. When I first saw ESB as a 6 or 7 year old in the mid 80s I refused to believe that Luke's father could be evil but took it a very different way. I was perfectly happy to accept that Vader was Luke's father but had trouble with the Vader being evil part. From that point to me he was really part of the alliance pretending to work for the Empire. ROTJ reinforced this as Vader killed the Emperor. I never picked up on the whole inner conflict thing at that age. I can even remember when playing with Star Wars toys, Vader was always a "goodie", the "baddies" just thought he was on their side.

For a human being."-------I guess I thought "Plappy" meant tough or pliable or durable or something. then from reading some of the posts here, it hit me: Dad is one of those people who thought Jabba ate Oola instead of a frog!! And unlike those who thought he shrank down Oola, Dad thought that Jabba was just frigging gigantic and picked up Oola out of the water for a quick snack.
