That sounds about right. All I ever saw was the preview for it.

I used to think instead of Obi-Wan saying that Chewbacca is the first mate "on a ship that might suit us", I thought he said " on a ship with light suitors".

I just remembered this one when watching ANH yesterday:

When luke says about the tie fighter "He must have gotten lost, been part of a convoy or something." as a kid, I didn't know the word convoy.

The best I could interpret it was "He must have gotten lost, been part of a conboy or something."

So I knew the term "con man" and I just figured a "con boy" was a young con man.

I wasn't really sure what that meant in the context though. I imagined that maybe the tie fighter pilot was flying around the galaxy, trying to trick people out of their money. Or that the tie fighter used to be part of a larger group and now he was all by himself, lost because he was the victim of a con boy.

beware those con boys.

The Clone Wars were about the Jedi fighting clones of themselves.

I thought the entire Death Star sequence of A New Hope took place on Tatooine.

And I thought Captain Needa's name was "Captain Leader".

I don't know if I had misconceptions but it was weird to go from watching the original star wars in boston on the big screen to going to
work casting blue screen background and photo doubles for them in the 80s....the little casting company I worked with got
involved through producer jim bloom and his prod coord...mikki herman and got included on the super secret "Blue Harvest"
which was the code name for then titled "Revenge of the Jedi"...fun back then..some of my friends who worked up there
didn't end up doin' too well though....worked themselves so hard that they burned out....I still have some friends up at
kerner though which spun off from ILM.....fun place to hang out....sometimes they do facilities tours ...big fun

I thought the ring that the sandtrooper holds up in ANH actually was a droid.

Kinda a weird one...

In ANH, when Luke is looking through his macrobinoculars to find R2, he does a 360 and the homestead passes by.

I thought the homestead was R2, and couldn't understand why Luke was so blind.

I had this problem too...
I was also told by my Uncle that Darth Vader died at the end of ANH and belived him. grrrrrrr angry
And I totally thought that Darth Vader was taking blood from Leia in ANH when he is interigating her.

This is really embarrassing, but I didn't realize until a couple of years ago that Darth Vader said "No, I am your father" and not "Luke, I am your father". I wish I could go back and smack every person that's ever misquoted that line...

Lol! The only reason I knew the correct version (No, I am your father) was because I learnt the conversation off by heart.
It caught me out before though- I had to rewind the tape and play it again to make sure!

I fell for the "lifesaver" thing too doh! I also thought Darth Vader was called Dark Vader.

When I first saw ROTJ I saw Luke's saber as blue. Was the tint on the TV off? thinking

I also thought that Luke & Han were brothers. Nothing in the movie made me think that; I just thought they shared a resemblance.

"I remember I used to think that Vader wanted the Millenium falcon because it was faster than his ships and he was jealous."

&

"For a long time, I wondered if Kermit the Frog was a Jedi.I was a very odd child."

These two comments made me laugh so much! Genuine thanks for making my day.

Another one I just remembered. Just after the ANH opening crawl, and before the Tantive IV and Devastator rolled over the screens, when it focused on Tatooine and the two moons orbiting it, I used to think the one in the background was actually the Death Star.

After taking me to ESB for the first time, my cousin's boyfriend convinced me that Mark Hamill had really had his hand cut off. I figured that was the sort of commitment you'd have to make.

Also, until I saw the ESB making-of special (SPFX), I assumed that the space sequences were staged up in space nearby, with the aid of NASA.
