The misconceptions you had about Star Wars, when you were a kid.

RE: The misconceptions you had about Star Wars, when you were a kid.
Sorry if this is a long reply, but I have so many fond memories..
I was raised on Star Wars (Saw the movies when I was 3 years old first). Here's a few of my wacky things..
1) I was furious at Star Trek, thinking that they copied Star Wars. I refused to even look at anything 'Star Trek'. To this day, I have a mental wedge that makes me cringe every time I hear the words 'Star Trek'.
2) I, too, tried moving objects with my mind (Actually, I still do sometimes, not seriously, just on a whim sometimes).
3) I actually tried to use the force to throw my toy lightsaber. Man, my friends and I were way too into Star Wars.
4) I beat Dark Forces (The original one) when I was 7 years old (the year it came out, I was sort of a prodigy). Kyle Katarn became my favorite Star Wars character (and still is to this day). I spent days playing the movies in slow motion, faithfully searching for Kyle, refusing to believe that GL would be stupid enough not to put him in.
5) Get this. My friends and I had a 'system' for toy lightsaber duels. We each had allotted to us 1 Force Lightning and 1 Force Push. When the lightning hit you, you had to cringe in pain, unless you blocked it with your saber. The push, made you fall backward.
6) My most recent Star Wars fiasco would have to be me and a friend going to see the Midnight Premeir of Episode II. This geek in front of us would stand up and shout insults at the movie whenever something he didn't like happened. Finally, after Jango dropped the sound bombs (In OUTER SPACE), he leapt up, screaming "WHY DOES OBI HAVE TO SUFFER FOR GEORGE LUCAS' IDIOCY???" and was dragged out by theatre security, screaming the whole way out.
"Peas for brains, sweetheart"
-LoL, thats hilarious. Unfortunately, I watched the movies so many times I didn't have many misconceptions. Darn.
Wow, sorry for the long post.

So that day I figured EP I to III already existed, but I tought that they were forbidden movies, impossible to find.
"
Gawd, that's hilarious!
Actually, all of my misonceptions are on page #1 of this thread, so go there to find them.
Though I forgot to post in my first post here that I thought Darth Vader was "Dark Raider".

I remember thinking when Emperor Palpatine said "If Skywalker can be turned, he will be a powerful ally," or something to that extent, that an "ally" was some kind of group of Jedi. I guess I figured that ally sounded kind of like Jedi, so I thought Vader and Palpy were "allies" (which they were, but you know what I mean).

I never understood that Obi Wan was using a mind trick on that Stormtrooper in ANH.

The part where the 2 stormtroopers are talking and Obi wan is working on the tractor beam, I thought when it was asked by one of the troopers about what was going on, the other one said "maybe its another girl." I heard that he said "maybe its another drill."
Of course, that was not the only line I heard wrong...

The first Star Wars I watched was Return of the Jedi. I cannot remember anything about the Force for some reason, and the Emperor somehow did something that was incredibly ticklish to Luke at the end.

I always thought the Officers were Nazis (wait are they?) and I thought Darth Vader was weaker than the Emperor and his son. Thank goodness I know better now.

Man, I was really confused with that "EpIV" rolling up the screen back in '77, but when those ships came in fast and blasting, I forgot about it.

"Maybe it's another girl"-I had that one too! I thought that the stormtroopers knew about Princess Leia, and that they figured the disturbances were because they'd brought another girl on board.

I used to think that Princess Leia's ship (Tantiv 4) was called the Custodian due to the opening crawl.
I also used to think that C3P0 was part human, as every kid knows a cyborg is half machine and half human "Human/cyborg relations".

RE: The misconceptions you had about Star Wars, when you were a kid.
Ummm...I was 13 when I first saw the movies, but my little sis was only five, and she had some funny misconceptions:
1. RD-22 and CPO.
She was so cute!! What happened?
2. At-At walkers. Not AT-At but at-at. [face_shocked]
3. "Why did Luke just kill Vader?" (Dagobah cave)
4. Are the white guys (stormtroopers) Bader's (yes, Bader
) brothers?
That's all I can remember.
