I always thought admiral Ackbar said "On the nearby FAREST moon of Endor" That really confused me, nearby but farest, huh?

1.from ANH and ROTJ when Wedge says:

"Lock S foils in attack position"....I thought he said "luck as falls in attack position"

like he was saying this is the way luck has played out,and its time to get in attack positions.

2.from ROTJ:

when Luke comes through Jabbas gate and the scene is shot from far away with light obscuring the person and all you see is a cape....I thought it was Darth Vader arriving to come and trap Luke like in ESB.

3.from ROTJ:

when the Emperor is talking to Luke on the DS 2 and says "your friends on the sentry moon are walking into a trap"......I thought he said "youre friends on the century mooon are walking into a trap"

I still hear it sometimes as "Centurian Moon." But then, maybe that's a link to another piece of 80's nostalgia for me.

The Centurians!

One misconception I just remembered: I thought that Luke's saber, in ANH, was the one that Obi-Wan was using throughout the movie. So when Vader "killed" Kenobi, and kicked his lightsaber around, I thought Luke wasn't going to get a chance to become a Jedi.

This is why the cave scene on Hoth in ESB was a bit confusing for me at first. I thought that Luke's saber was still floating about with the Death Star wreckage.

Also, remember the silver protocol droid in ANH? I thought it was a girl droid. I even thought it might have been Threepio's girlfriend. When he saw another silver protocol droid on Bespin in ESB, I thought that he was meeting up with his old flame, who apparently had broken up with him.

That's what I'm talking about. The presence of Luke's saber on Hoth confused me, at first. This was from when I was around four, remember. I had to jog my memory each time I saw ESB and remind myself that Luke and Ben probably had different sabers. I even remember watching certain scenes in ANH over and over again to see if Luke was wearing it on his belt after escaping the Death Star.

When I was a kid I'd only seen Ep4 in the original run and re-releases until somewhere around 1980-81. VCRs were still at least $400 and it's not like you could go to the local "Beta-Barn" and rent movies 6 months after they were released.

Everytime I saw the scene where Kenobi is shutting down the tractor beam I thought the conversation between the Stormtroopers went like:

"Do you know what's going on?"

"Maybe it's another GIRL." - instead of "drill"

You know, like Lord Vader captures princesses all the time and everytime he does they cause problems. What does Yoda say in Ep2? "Truly amazing, the mind of a child."

There was that - and then, like a lot of my friends, I thought that Luke was trying to slash at the remote during Lightsaber practice. Which is exactly what we all recreated with our figures in the back of the Millenium Falcon, we'd sit there and make Luke's little plastic Lightsaber play batting practice with the little plastic remote.

After all, ignorance is bliss.

I thought the training remote was a sort of minature Death Star, as though Obi-Wan had encountered it before and decided to model the mock-adversary after it.

In the original scene in ESB when Vader is talking to the Emperor's hologram, when the two are discussing what to do about young Skywalker, Vader says, "If he could be turned, he could be a powerful Ally."

Being a young kid, I thought, "Ally...that sounds kinda like Jedi!" I thought that Vader and the Emperor were trying to turn Luke from being a Jedi to join their league of Force-wielding warriors, the all-powerful Ally.

The misconception I remember the most was the first time I ever watched Return of the Jedi, I recall seeing Luke walk into Jabba's Palace and I thought that it was the Emperor. I actually thought that until he completely took off his hood a few seconds later in the throne room...

these are all too funny, unfortunatly mine aren't so humorous but here they are...
I thought Wedge was played by a different actor in ESB
I thought Nien Nunb(sp?) was 2 ft. tall
I coulda sworn that Luke misses with the first toss of the grappling hook on the Death Star bridge

I remember being horrified by the fact that the AT-AT stepped on Luke's ship crushing Dack; thinking that must have really hurt. Not realizing that Dack did not feel a thing because he had already had a pretty quick and painless death.

I also remember thinking that the only thing Vader had left was his brain under the helmet. In ESB, the back of his head was all that you saw. The texture looked like a brain to me. I thought, "That's gross."

I have always been a huge fan of Darth Vader. I remember when you hear the speech...

Vader: Luke, you can destroy the Emperor. He has forseen this. It is your destiny. Join me, and we can rule the galaxy as father and son.

...I thought this sounded like a pretty good deal and remember thinking that Vader was trying to help Luke and that Luke should go with him.
