In ROTJ, when Yoda tells Luke "No, there is another..." I childishly beleived that he had said "No, there is a brother" making me think, until I found out Liea was his sister of course, that Han was Luke's brother!

Oh yeah, and I thought that Jabba the Hutt was scary.

I always thought that, during the hologram scene in ESB between Vader and the Emperor, they were planning to make Luke an Allie...the opposite of Jedi. When I finally learned what an ally was, I felt so dumb.

I also thought that General Dodonna, I think is his name, was Leia's adopted father.

But mostly my misconceptions about Star Wars were with the dialogue. I did this with most movies when I was a kid. Limited vocabulary: make up words.

I watched ANH and ROTJ when I was 7, and as you can imagine, I got a few things screwy. wink I had always thought that the Ewoks killed Darth Vader, and Luke died. I have no idea how I got that, but oh well. rolling_eyes

From what I remember at the moment, I always thought the Stormtrooopers were white Darth Vader's (Or "White Vaders") & I always thought Darth Vader was called "Dark Vader".

Also, I thought that Anakin Skywalker was Luke's son because I was never into Star Wars until 2001 (When I knew nothing of it). And that when Darth Vader went down to the dark side, he went into a forested cave area or something & thats how he became what he was.

Instead of Lock S Foils in attack position, I thought it was Lock Ass Falls in attack position for some reason, and I thought it was some sort of code.

^ laugh that's hilarious!

I didn't really get into Star Wars until I was 14 or so, but I remember being really little and hiding behind the couch because I found Darth so scary.

There are a few lines that I never understood properly though (and maybe still don't) like That's what you said when Biggs in tank. I also have a memory of seeing the Biggs deleted scene in the movie theatre (where they're talking on Tatooine), but that would have been impossible.

You know that scene in ROTJ where Luke is laying the smacketh down on Vader? When I was little I always thought he was, like, sucking his strength or life force out.

Storm troopers where robots. A classic one of course.

That Star Wars came out the first time my father taped it for me. And how he knew that TesB was the sequel with just a couple of lines in the TV guide and a 2cm/2cm picture of Luke standing in the carbon freeze chamber. Well those there the eighties.

Well, after seeing ANH, getting my Mead folder with Luke on one side and Leia on the other, then reading Splinter of the Minds Eye several times over, I thought Luke and Leia were the cutest couple ever! In my nine-year-old eyes, they were dreamy.
So in Empire I was more upset that they ended up brother and sister than finding out Vader was Luke's dad. "(

Actually it's in ROTJ that you find out they're brother and sister

The way Obi Wan tells Luke about Anakin, I always thought Anakin was more like Han Solo and older then 10 when they meet. The Prequels killed that notion.

I always thought that Darth was an acronym for Dark Lord of the Sith

1) "the more you tighten your griptok, the more starsystems will slip through your fingers." should be "grip, Tarkin" ...I thought a griptok was something to do with the neck of his uniform, since it looked tight.
2) I thought R2 died when the jawas shot him. I actually cried when I first saw the movie.
3) I thought dianoga in the trash compacter was the spirogrip alien from the computer game "commander keen, (ep5)"
4) I never figured out the how luke got his lightsaber in ESB

Anyone else think that Tarkin's name was Tuck?

'Governor Tuck! I should have expeced to find you holding Vader's leash.'
