I concur, there's a REASON why Lucas doesn't direct the movie based on the lastest polls.

I would get rid of the star destroyer crashing into the super star destroyer because the flames that erupted would NOT happen in the vacuum of space.
I would make the mauling of the stormtroopers more realistic.
I would change Luke's lightsaber style during the Sail Barge scene.

Fire is possible in space due to escaping oxygen from the damaged sections of the ships.

I think for a more dramatic affect (and also something to put two characters to use), I would have Han up there in the Battle. Him, Lando, and Chewie. Maybe Lando and Chewie should die.
Then when Han got back to Endor, he and Leia would be married.
Also, trim down a lot of the first act.

Well, I liked ROTJ, but I will say this:
Should've had Irvin Kershner direct it. Plain and simple. It would've been a completely different movie if he'd done it, and dare I say *whispers--->* better. I'm sorry to be so harsh to Mr. Marquand, who is no longer with us, but there are several flaws with the directing, for example: editing. Way too choppy. The Sarlacc battle scene, as well as the Endor battle scene were not very good from a directorial editing point-of-view, imo. There are other directorial choices which I disagree with, but that's just me. I just think Kersh is cool, and would've done a better job.

There should be some scenes based off the Endor level in Force Commander. 
The whole idea of that level was just to exterminate as many Ewoks as you could find.

the What was the original plot for Episodes 7-9? thread?
In the final space battle I would have a few of the ships from the Rebel Alliance actually crash into the shield protecting the Death Star. Someone else mentioned that on a thread along time ago. Now everytime I watch the film I wish it would happen.
I agree with shortening the Jabba's palace sequence.
Maybe add more between Vader and Palpatine.

Ooh, this should be fun. Don't get me wrong, I love ROTJ (well, mostly), but there are a couple of things that, in my opinion, could make the film better.
Trim down the Jabba sequence (especially Jedi Rocks, please oh please). This serves as little more than an introduction, and it's waaay too long for that. Also, is there a reason why it looks like Jabba's tail is coming out of the side of his body? I never got that. The rancor battle could use some serious improvements.
Fix Boba's death. Now that he has such a huge cult following, he should have a more noble death, if only for those who don't read the EU. He should use all his Mandalorian gadgets before getting eaten, and I mean everything. Blasters, flamethrower, grappling hook, toxic darts, spiked boots, concussion grenades, missiles, etc. I like the idea of Han disposing of him, but, seeing as how he was blind at the time, I'd rather have Luke knock him in, or maybe distract him long enough for Han to do so.
The battle on the Forest Moon was not as spectacular as it should have been. About a hundred little teddy bears took out an entire legion of the Emperor's best troops with rocks, and only lost two of their number. Yeah. I'd like to see a real firefight, with lasers (and arrows) flying every which way. More Ewoks need to die, to show that the Imperial troops deserve their reputation. And more Ewoks need to be involved with the battle. A couple hundred more might be able to pull it off.
In the Battle of Endor, USE THE STAR DESTROYERS!!! Since, chronologically, it's the last movie in the saga, we oughta see the space battle to end all space battles. ISDs, Mon Calamari battleships, B-wings, TIE fighters, A-wings, TIE Interceptors, X-Wings, Nebulon B Frigates, and the Executor all tearing each other apart in total vehicular carnage!!! BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!! Yeah, well, at least put in more capital ship battles.
Longer continuous lightsaber duels. I mean, it's like fight, stop and talk, fight, stop and talk, fight, stop and talk. It's good the way it is, but make the absolute end part of it, when Luke goes postal on Vader, longer. I'd think it would take a longer attack than Luke's to drive Darth Vader to his knees. This, along with a better space battle, is one change I'd really, really like to see.
I like the new ending, except for the very last scene we see, which looks incredibly set up. Take out Lando and the Ewoks, and don't have the characters look DIRECTLY at the camera. Maybe in its general direction, but not right into it.

My two cents on ROTJ
1)Again...no Rocks scene...
2)Wasn't there a cut scene of the Rancor and a Krayt Dragon...don't add it, but let us ee it in a de;leted scene
3)Redo the sandstorm scene
4)CGI the Rancor, also, put the radio scene of Han taunting Fett in...
5)Insert Geonosian on the Death Star and maybe make the word Bothan, Geonosian, like they maybe came around to the Light Side.
6)Insert a digital Padme at the end, maybe Mace
7)Add more rebels to Endor ground fight...KILL WICKET
8)Have Vader act more ominous to Palpy
9)Wasn't there cut footage of ships hitting shield? Add it!
10)Insert Naboo fighters...and cruisers

Ooh ooh ooh! I just had the most brilliant idea for a plausible PT tie-in! Okay, brace yourselves!
Instead of having the final battle at Endor, we can have it at Naboo! And instead of the Ewoks, the Rebels can join forces with the Gungans! The Gungans would fare much better against the stormtroopers than the Ewoks should have, and it would be possible for them to win, with their energy shield and boomers! And instead of Wicket, we can have Jar Jar! He can find Leia after she falls off her speeder bike and go, "Whosa are yousa?" just like in TPM! Brilliance! Sheer brilliance!
Or not...
