Didn't the original Playskool Endor Luke have a magnet in his hand? Do these ones also, or did they cut corners there?

Yes, he did. Then again quite a lot of the figures did...

Anakin - AOTC
Battle Droid (chest)
Luke - Hoth
Luke - Endor
Luke - X-Wing
Mace Windu
Obi-Wan - TPM
Reek (side)
Scout Trooper (chest)
Wampa (chest)

...at least a few of those have been re-released and I'm not sure if they included Magnets again or not. When I get home if I think about it I'll check out my re-hashed Mace from the pack with Kit Fisto and see if he's got one.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't though. Without a Reek to ride or a Wampa to stun there's really not much point to them...and the "force push" for the smaller bad guys was so weak that you usually had to get so close that you knocked him down by touching him anyway.

Heh...okay...I hadn't held them by any paper clips or anything, but I was pretty sure they'd have cut corners there because it wasn't advertised on the packaging (and I was sure Hasbro would have tried to use it as a selling point if they still had the magnets).

Just to clarify, I do own the old Obi...I was just using him as an example of an important secondary (or primary if you like) character that should not be overlooked. Obi-Wan was no lone wolf in TPM, and he relied a lot on Qui-Gon throughout the film, but you'd never know it with the number of Obi vs Qui-Gon toys that have come out.

C-3PO: Master Luke, sir. Pardon me for asking, but what should R2 and I do if we're discovered here?
Luke: Lock the door.
Han Solo: And hope they don't have blasters.
C-3PO: That isn't very reassuring.
Darth Vader: Today will be a day long remembered.

I see. I completely agree. The lack of Qui-Gon figures across the board disappoints me greatly as he is one of my favorite characters from the entire saga! Anyway, there's already a thread on that topic.

I may buy the Han/Luke Hoth figures just because our neighbor's dog ate the lightsaber and hand off the Luke from our Playskool set. But otherwise, a disappointing wave.

Some good news and bad news from Rebelscum:

Galactic Heroes
With children and collectors who jumped on after the initial Playskool line was long gone in mind, Hasbro will be offering a few of the cooler figures again in the popular Galactic Heroes two packs. For everyone else, they’ll also be throwing in some brand new figures and some previously mentioned repaint figures.

Playskool Reissues
Darth Maul & Obi-Wan

New figures
Sandtrooper & Obi-Wan*
Greedo & Han Solo*
Luke Skywalker & Han Solo (both in Stormtrooper disguise)
Wedge Antilles & TIE Pilot
Stormtrooper & Rebel Soldier (both in Hoth battle gear)
Darth Vader* & Leia Organa (Bespin)
Luke Skywalker (Bespin) & Lando Calrissian

Repaints
Clone Trooper & Battle Droid
Emperor & Red Shock Trooper
Chewbacca & C-3PO

*Indicates figure may be a repaint or repack

Some cool new figures: Greedo, Stormtrooper Luke & Han, Wedge & TIE Pilot, Hoth Trooper and Rebel, Bespin Leia and Luke and Lando. The only problem is a few come paired up with repacks, but I can deal with that since we'll be getting more new ones than I was expecting.

Now if only we can get a good new vehicle or beast...

Jedi_Liz - I went down about 5 pages and found a Jedi Force thread. It started out as an Obi & Boga thread but I think it's become more general. Feel free to ask there!

You also might want to check some of the sites in our Online Resource thread stickied near the top of the thread list. All of the sites have been used successfully by people here.

I came across the new ROTS re-paint wave this weekend...

    - Anakin / 501st Clone
    - Obi-Wan / Utapau Clone
    - Vader / Holo Emperor
    - Yoda / Scout Trooper

...I was surprised to find out that all of the figures in these sets have been re-painted. I had thought that only the Clone (or Emperor) in each was a modified paint-job, but I'm glad to say that's not the case.

Anakin has been given his "Sith eyes" and actually has the scar on his face this time (the original ROTS release didn't have one). Obi-Wan has been given a dark dirty paintjob on his boots, pants, and lower shirt that works rather well. Vader now has the dull silver shoulder pads and stripes on his collarbone armor piece. Yoda is the most subtle change, his Jedi robes now have what looks like a bit of a green grass stain over much of them.

They all look very good, and it really makes it easier to accept buying these sets for me. The variations all make sense and change the figure just enough that it doesn't feel like you're buying exactly the same thing over again...which was my biggest worry with these.

Of course it also helps that the Holo Emperor looks fantastic (even if he's horribly inaccurate)...and the Clone re-paints are top notch.

Yeah, I noticed those changes too. Pretty cool. Sadly, I won't allow myself to buy any PT GH figs...I bought a bunch of the OT ones, and it was cutting into my meager figure collecting budget, so I had to give up at some point. I saw these four new sets over the weekend, though, and wished for a moment that I was trying to collect them all still...they would have made a nice addition to the collection.

The Kashyyyk scout does teach us one thing - it's possible to turn a OT scout into the Kashyyyk scout with a decent camo paint job...now if only I could do a decent camo paint job... raised_brow

Found the Scout trooper & Speeder Bike, Luke Skywalker & Speeder Bike, and the Luke and Han Hoth sets. I plan to get extras of the Biker Scout set. The Luke and Speeder Bike is great. But the skin color on the Hoth set seems wrong... Looks more link lving dead and stuck in a freezer Luke.

I've noticed the same problem...they are more of a sickly looking yellow. Actually I think the Speeder Bike Luke is a bit off as well compared to the versions. It doesn't look as bad as the Hoth set (which looks horrid) but it's still not quite right.

I'm hoping that it's only a problem with this particular wave. Because it is definitely noticeable and "wrong" enough to keep me from purchasing things I might have otherwise. The repainted coat on the Han was enough to have made me plan to pick up the Hoth set and I passed on it.
