thanks for the "heads up." i just hopped over to rebelscum to check them out. i'm not sure about mace and obi. they look kinda goofy, but it's always hard to tell from photos. the packaging is alright...i'd prefer OTC but this probably appeals to the kids.

What's most interesting to me is how the RotS preview figures will be packed in RotS packaging. They'll be pretty tough to get ahold of.
That Mace looks like the Saga Mace with lightsaber slashing action. Those aren't very good photos of the figures themselves, so I'll wait to pass judgement.

I'm not sure about Mace and Obi as well. I might pass on those 2, but the rest look great from what I can tell. Man, wish they would let the slashing actions die.

Compare the RotS Obi-Wan to the first Saga one! The photo may not be the best, but you can still tell that this is better by leaps and bounds! It looks like Hasbro has merged neutral poses with action features, and there isn't much wrong with that, is there? IMO no. Obi-Wan's right arm may look a little strange, but its still better than the stiff, squatty, Coruscant Chase one. If I'm not making much sense its because I'm very excited by these figures.

I'm tired of the "action" (eg slashing, quick draw) action figures too.  Of course, I would purchase a figure like the slashed in half Maul (some call me morbid). As for the preview figures... I hope the rest of the figures are more attractive. The OB1 looks like it could have come from the last movie.
If Hasbro is going for "action" action figures, then how about a Palpatine that sends low-powered shocks through his hands-- I know, I know: we live in lawsuitland.

I read somewhere that the "Action feature" will be
most prominent in the first wave. The second wave
will feature more articulation. The theory is that
Hasbro thinks that kids like action features, and
collectors don't, so they struck a compromise. We'll
see.
With the preview figures, I assume that they'll hit
around February. That's when I found the AOTC preview
wave. They're also supposed release Anakin's
Starfighter, with a packed in figure. That would be
cool.
For those who haven't seen the images, according to
the back of the card, the first wave will consist of..
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Anakin Skywalker
Mace Windu
Yoda
Chewbacca
R2-D2
General Grievous
General's Henchman
Clone trooper
Super Battle droid

There are 3 more figures shown on the cardback but are covered by the UPC and legal stuff (it seems that part of the card can be peeled away). The first is Mace Windu (you can see the purple saber), any idea who the other two could be? Sidious? Padme with twins?

Looks pretty cool. Is there a bigger version somewhere? Looks at least one set (the Jabba set) are squirters, but it's hard to tell for sure.
EDIT- Nevermind. I figured out how to enlarge it. That is gonna be one cool line.
