SithLordKobe posted: My closest Target took down almost all of their SW stuff, hanging a sign that says "July 26" instead. What was left was a few micro-Unleashed packs, plus a couple Legacy Collection/Clone Wars battle packs: Hoth Recon, Hoth Speeder Bike, and another one whose name escapes me right now.
I just got back from Wal-Mart and they had those "planogram" sheets taped up all over the action figure aisles so they appear ready to do a reset as well.
They did have a new endcap display set up full of "Droid factory" sets and I got the Luke/R2 one.

I've read reports of those droid sets going on clearance already...down to $5. Not here, though. They don't seem to be selling well, either. BTW...you said you saw a planogram. Was there any DC universe stuff on it? They're trickling into Target, and Wal-Mart is supposed to be picking them up as well. I bought the infinite heroes Guy Gardner and Capt. Marvel, and I love them. Most of the same detail and articulation of the six inch figures in a 3.75 inch figure, for only $4.99. I hope they're a huge hit.

I've seen the Target 'Order 66' sets on clearance for about the same price. The Wal-Mart near my house just got the 'Droid factory' sets in. I hadn't planned on getting any, but since they had one with Luke I picked it up.

I should've looked at them all, but I just read the one hanging in front of the 'G.I. Joe' shelf. I think it had a bunch of Pokemon stuff on it!? I honestly didn't know Pokemon was still around. Hasn't that kid caught them all yet ?
That Infinite heroes line sounds awesome. I'd be interested in picking up some of those.

Today's as good a time as any to come back to the boards for a quick post or two.
For the past year or so I've pretty well scaled back my Hasbro collecting. I've been focusing on the Galactic Heroes line at retail but still picking up a figure or two per wave and some of the vehicle releases. Once I'd completed the McQuarrie Collection I pretty much stopped actively hunting on a regular basis in favor of just a once or twice a week stroll down the toy row. The last wave I bought every figure from was the 30th Anniversary EU batch.
Of course there's nothing like a relaunch of the line and a good hard street date to bring me back in for at least a day or so though. Neverming the fact that vehicles for my old Clone army certainly don't hurt Hasbro's cause at all. So it's no surprise that I found myself hitting the stores this morning as they opened (no midnight events to speak of where I'm at).
I'm loving the look of all the new stuff, even the CW line. I was holding off on judging those until I saw them in person and they're not bat at all. That said, I'm going to hold off and stick to the "realistic" style for now...and even then being very selective as I have been. So this morning's haul wasn't all that impressive, but was the most I've picked up in one day in a long time. I had a blast.
Legacy Collection
- Leektar & Nippet
- Obi-Wan Kenobi (original CW)
- Saesee Tiin (original CW)
- Padme Amidala (original CW)
- Clone Trooper (original CW)
Evolutions
- The Padme Amidala Legacy
Comic Packs
- Asajj Ventress & Tol Skorr
Vehicles
- AT-TE (there are no words to express the awesomeness, I just keep staring at it)
- V-19 Torrent Starfighter
Galactic Heroes (actually found earlier this week)
- Jar Jar & Destroyer Droid
- Shaak Ti & Magna Guard
- Slave Leia & Sail Barge R2-D2
I plan on going back and picking up a Homing Spider Droid soon enough. I didn't feel like it at the time but realized after I got home that I really should have. I also skipped the Plo Koon GH pairing initially because I wasn't sure if it was a repack/repaint at the time, I will pick it up down the road.
For now I'm passing on the Gigantosaurus Rex Millenium Falcon. I have the last re-release of the old mold...and while I know the new one is infinitely better I don't really have room or a desire to display the old one to begin with. Time will tell if I can hold out forever though. It's just not the instant buy for me that Clone related vehicles are.

That's the first I've heard of this being out. Is it any good?
I went over to Target early this morning:
Clone Wars Grievous: Which is absolutely terrible. Don't buy it if you plan to open it. Can't display the 4 sabers properly and can barely stand.
Padme Evolutions
Clone Armor Obi-Wan and Saesee Tiin
Saga Lengends Yoda and Threepio
And thanks to a generous fellow collector: Darth Vader with two-piece helmet
I later went back to target after seeing how good the build a droids were:
Lancer Droid, Scupa Trooper, trooper with big gun, Mon Cal, Quarren.
No Illum Padme. So my build a droid is missing a leg until I can find it.
Unfortunately I lack both the space and funds for the AT-TE or the Falcon.

Well I also scored some new stuff today. Wal-Mizzle had a huge display in one of the main aisles with figures, Lightsabers, Legos, a pretty cool Clone helmet/voice changer, AT-TE's and of course BMFs.
I picked up the Clone Wars Anakin & Obi-Wan, which are pretty cool, and the Legacy Luke and Han [deleted ROTJ scene]. I drooled at the ginormous Falcon and seriously thought about getting it, but the $150 price tag caused my credits cards to cut themselves in half . They had 8, and at that price they won't all sell tonight. I might go back and get one tomorrow.

ok, here's my story for Austin's MM affair:
The wife and I were there as FF leadership, manning the table and providing entertainment and a trivia contest for the kids. No real intention of getting anything, as I'm not big on first day issues or anything; just figured we'll go in when we go in, even if its last, just to take some pics. Especially after pics, with captions like 'this is where the toys were supposed to be'
Anyways, we wound up having over 150 in line, even bigger than the ROTS MM, and about 10 min to midnight an employee comes out, tells us how its going to work, blah blah. One of my FF members said they recieved 12 Falcons, and I was like, that's fine, they want $10 more at TRU anyways, I can get it elsewhere.
Wife and I go in last, after cleaning up the table and getting everything put away....
5 Falcons left, out of 12.
2 B-wings left.
3 AT-TEs left.
a whole 4ft wall section of clone helmets.
We walked out that night with the Falcon, AT-TE, and the B-Wing. I went to bed around 4am after opening them all up, hooking up the batteries, and placing decals.
I love Maulfly very very very very much.

I was really surprised to see it myself. Found it at a TRU, along with some others from that wave like the Anakin/Durge set. When we went to check out it didn't pull up in the system and they had to manually look up the price, so they weren't planning on having it out either.
I haven't opened it yet but my first impressions are really positive. Great sculpts and for the most part great paint as well.
Asajj is hands down the best version we've gotten yet. After a series of pretty questionable figures and a hang up on her animated look this one really captures the comic version of the character well...which is the look I prefer. The only oddball thing is her lightsabers. The "blade" portion includes a curved guard like Dooku's saber has. That would be okay (if inaccurate) if it were painted silver, but it's a translucent red just like the rest of the blade.
Skorr is a pretty good looking figure as well. Hasbro nailed the likeness and gave us plenty of detail. The paint work on his scars is a little over the top red for my tastes, but not so much so that it ruins the figure. The articulation looks good and if the armor over his shoulders stays in place he should be very versatile.
The soft goods used on both are in scale and look good. Asajj doesn't get a cloak this time around, but since this release is at least partially based on the 2003 mold you can probably borrow the sculpted one that came with that original figure (and the lightsabers while you're at it) if you think she needs it for a display.

My copy of the new Clone Wars novel came from Amazon UK today. One of the upstairs neighbors took the package from the postman but they didn't get home to give it to me until now. It's next on my reading list!
