Also, if we had not been hunting down these figures I know of at least one dealer that would have been hot on our trails and picked them all up to re-sell at his shop anyway. I often buy multiples of the rare figures I find anyway & then re-distribute them among my fellow collectors personally. I will do anything I can to keep them out of the hands of the scalpers.
That's really cool. You know what be a good idea, starting like a "Collecting club" in the local FanForces where people can get together and try and help each other find figures or those who frequent shops can get them for members in town and transact at the next event or meeting.

Ding ding ding ding! Give the man a prize! That's exactly the point of having a Fan Force!!! All those things are possible!!!
I met urbnns at a TRU while I was looking for some fig or another about a year ago (actually I was shopping for the kidses and made my obligatory stop by the SW section). We got talking, I told him about Fan Force. IIRC, he had been on these forums but never made the trip to the FF side of the JC house. Lo and behold, he meets with our other collectors... and bada bing -- a local collector club is born through FF and these boards, and it keeps figs out of the scalpers.
I'm a full time college student with a full time federal job, a wife and 3 kids. I took 15 credits this semester --I'm more than a little busy. But I know that if there is ever a figure or... anything SW related that might hit the stores, I can talk to either of these guys (via PM of course, since soliciting is against the forum rules according to the scrolling marquee) and I know they can get it for me. I either PP them or pay them in person before/after, or when I get the figs. It is a win win situation.
Case in point: When the new Clone Gunship and/or AT-TE come out, I intend on getting one of them the money in hand ahead of time (they do cost a pretty penny) and I know they'll pick it up for me on one of their regular trips. It'll keep them out of the hands of scalpers, and let me get the only things I truly care about getting in the near future. Since I need my nights for homework or classes, I can trust these guys to hook me up. Win-win.
If I didn't have friends like this, I'd have to either buy online and pay shipping (not so bad), or go the scalper route. //shudder// Far better to buy from EE or some other legit store than from some scalper who jacks the prices up. If I lived in some small town, that's what I'd do.

Well, that was an interesting bit to read. Lucky you apparently don't know urbnns collects 100 of each clone, Syntax . Oops, sorry urbnns, I guess it'll start all over again, eh?
Saw your post on those 100 (or was it 50) Tsu Choi figures from the comic pack you offered for sale, for half price. You got quite some critique there, not entirely justified, imho. I'd say, if you can't sell 50% of a comic pack for 50% of the retail price, just throw 'em on eBay and live with having people pay even more in the end .
My opinion on army building is: go for it!! Over at RS, Darth_Anton and Darth_Soundwave also have huge amounts of clones.
But this thread's about acquisitions and last week I received the following in the mail:
Kir Kanos
2x Shadow Guard
2x Evo Trooper
2x Jump Trooper
And some Microman figures, all ready to donate their highly articulated joints for customizing purposes!
On a different note: here in Holland, figure prices have gone up from 7,99 euro to 9,99 euro! With the current dollar rate, that's $15 per figure! Please don't call me stupid then for buying loose single figures off ebay.

I remember when the Expanded Universe wave came out, the one with Revan, Malak, pre-cyborg Greivous, etc. This was, like, months ago, when that wave was new. I picked up one of each of those 3 figures at the local Wal-Mart, and it was awesome.
Within days, the rest of those new figures had sold out, leaving the pegwarmers behind (like, Labria and the other cantina denziens from the the 2006 Saga Collection. I am dead serious).
Yes , i haven't seen them since i nabbed those three plus
an Mcquarrie skywalker girl in like September!
But either way I applaud all of you collectors who work your arse off
and even those you just pay a little more because they are too busy.

Royal Mail delivered Koto Boba (version 2) today while I was at work. Luckily one of my upstairs neighbors was home and took him in for me. He just delivered the package. Assembly time!
Edit - there's good news and bad news.
Good news is he is easier to assemble than the first Koto Boba.
Bad news is that his rangefinder is super-brittle and it snapped off when I went to put his head on. Looks like I need to get Superglue when I go shopping. (It broke off real near the base. Right now the broken part is wedged in behind the bit that's still attached. Not ideal but from a distance it looks OK). Considering that it takes a bit of force to get his head on, this really should have been a separate part that fitted into a slot.
However, the figure looks great! Don't know what to do with the Darth Vader arm though - I probably won't get the rest in this series so I won't have the rest of the Vader parts.

I knew about Darth_Soundwave (actually, just found out recently). Who's this Darth_Anton, and are there any links to his photos?

Thanks IncomT65! Although he doesn't have as many as Darth_Soundwave or myself, his army is still quite impressive!

Saw the Indy film at the local cinema this morning (I liked it) and went shopping afterwards. Picked up the Indy novel omnibus (first 3 films) and the new film novel. Entertainer had the CE Exclusive 3PO and R2 Concept figures in protective case for £3. Don't normally collect them but at that price I bought one.

How did you like the film? I will see it soon.
I picked up c3po and r2 off ebay mcquarrie about a month
ago for $24.
My mcQuarrie collection is complete except for grevious, but
does he even count?

Bossk - I enjoyed the film. I loved the climactic scene. Some good humor and action. I'd rate it above Crusade but below Raiders and Doom.

saw flick today and liked it a lot. Yeah, a great Climatic
scene and good effects (as usual w/Mr. Lucas and Spielberg).
Definetly below Raiders and close with Crusade.
But i thought everyone din't like Temple of Doom, but I
guess you liked it.
Back on track: Picked up Covert Ops trooper, Utapau Shadow trooper
(sold it) and jump trooper the other day!
Finally getting newer figures here! Left Battle damaged Vader ,
what does everyone think of that figure?
