Oh dear. I think my Darth Tater and Artoo-Potatoo may be in for some company.

I know the new GIJoe figs are popular, and about 6 years ago when they started coming out again, I was excited too. But I have to say my enthusiasm has dimmed. Dimmed a lot.
Now, the ones I've seen over the last few months are a lot better at capturing the spirit and idea of the old figures, but the resculpting leaves me cold.
I would have put Zartan in with his swampskier too. Maybe resculpt as necessary.
My old figures from the 80s lasted pretty well. With the exception of the first wave, who had extremely fragile thumbs, the only thing that ever broke on me was BlowTorch's mask. I sold off my collection on eBay a couple years ago.
Now, someone mentioned in the Lego thread about other movie sets they'd like to see. Now that we're getting Indianna Jones sets to add to Harry Potter and Star Wars, what other movies would you like to see sets made for?
Firefly/Serenity: how about it? most of the parts can be borrowed from the old Wild West series they put out 10 years ago. Who wouldn't wand a giant version of that ship scaled to the minifigs?
Doctor Who: well, making the legos bigger on the inside might be difficult, but a lego Tardis exterior would be easy. Interior would be a little harder, but could be fun. You could even do different sets for all the different interiors: 1st/2nd Doctor, 3rd, 4th neon tube, 4th wood paneling, 4th/5th, 6th/7th, 8th, and new series 9th/10th. And don't forget the giant UCS Daleks (also available to set up in multiple versions).
Conan the Barbarian?
StarDust?

How about a few Doctor Who sets with a large scale TARDIS and perhaps a Dalek as well.
Or how about some BSG sets,
Alien vs predator vs space marines sets. Imagine recreating the set from the Aliens film.
or the shifting pyramid from AVP.
stargate, maybe building a fullscale replicator.
I know the indy ones are coming out pretty soon.
Actually one of sets from classic adventure movies would be cool too.
Goonies, Tron, and others set in a diorama that you build as well.
well since I couldnt make a thread about it how about it.

I see quite a few Dr Who figures in the local shops. However I can't recall seeing any Lego versions.

I would love to see Doctor Who LEGO. Looks like the closest thing are magnetic construction sets:

Lord of the Rings LEGO would be fantastic as well.

I got the Face of Boe in the mail yesterday. It is awesome.
Oh, and since I don't think I've seen this mentioned... TRU is now stocking a slim amount of Doctor Who merchandise. They have some Series 3 figures, the UV sonic screwdriver pen, some of the larger Daleks, and a few other things I think. I bought the sonic screwdriver (I now have three different ones), but all of the figures are either ones I already have or have no interest in. I want a Weeping Angel!!

Jedi_Riibu - if you don't mind ordering from the UK check out The Entertainer. (Unfortunately the Angel is out of stock on their site, but at least it is listed! You could always email them so ask if they will get more).
They ship internationally and they have proper stores as well as the website. (There is a small branch near me).

As easily as it's imported, I'm trying to hold out to get it for no more than $10.
Last year Underground Toys had an entire booth dedicated to Doctor Who toys at Comic-Con, and all the basic figures were $10/each (which is also the same price TRU has them for). I figure I'll wait until July (a long wait, I know) and see if they do the same this year so I can snag the Weeping Angel and others at the same deal.
I got The Face of Boe for the same price with shipping as they were selling him at Comic-Con, so no need to wait on that one.

I've seen the Face of Boe in the local Entertainer but I don't recall seeing the Angel. Now I'm going to have to look tomorrow while I am in town. (I did like that episode a lot). We have a Woolworths as well and I know they also stock Dr Who.

They had their own off-brand with electronic figures. Unfortunately, the pieces were not about adaptability and fun as Lego are: lots of big pieces that don't look right in different positions. Instead of building a wall from many bricks, here's a "wall brick". Lego does this sometimes, but this was worse than even MegaBloks.
Still, you should be able to find the sets for cheap on eBay.

I just got my second Weeping Angel from WhoNa. It's a great figure. I can't wait to get two of the Screaming Angels to complete my "Blink" TARDIS display.
Koohi, I think I saw some of those sets on clearance at Suncoast Video a few years back. I remember that I wasn't particularly impressed with them -- more than half the fun of LEGO is the freedom to come up with your own designs.

Well, I managed to find a Weeping Angel at the Entertainer today for £7.95. I was surprised to see it since their website usually gets the stuff first. It's a nice figure. They only had the one though. They had quite a good Dr Who figure selection. Woolworths had a lot less, but they had more new SW figures than Entertainer.

For those in the UK, I've just seen an ad on CN Too (Sky Channel 602) for the new Indiana Jones Lego sets. It was pretty good - a Lego version of the rolling rock and the airplane takeoff from the beginning of the first film.

Hello everyone! My collection revolves mostly around 12" and 16" figures. My passions are Disney, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter.
I have 3 of the 16" Harry Potter Robert Tonner dolls, Harry, Hermione and Ron... I'm anxiously awaiting a Ginny to complete my collection I think that Robert Tonner did an amazing job at crafting these figures.
As for POTC, I just placed an order for the HotToys Will Turner 12" on Sideshow... he's pretty expensive, but so nicely made!! He's the only POTC figure I have/ordered so far.
I'm still on the lookout for an amazing 12" Jack, I'm not crazy about the Sideshow Jack... and the one in the tribal costume is beyond amazing, but sadly I only have $ for one and I'm waiting for Jack in is traditional outfit!!
As for those of you who were talking about the large POTC ship, I'm quite jealous that I have no room for it. That ship was amazing!! I saw it on sale in Toys R Us for 25 bucks!!! But have no place to store it!!!

Yep. There's also a Nazi truck, Dr & Professor Jones escaping on a bike past a checkpoint, and an egyptian temple.
Funny how much of what they're using to do these sets is based on parts from about 5 years ago when they had a series of adventure sets which included an indian palace, byplanes, mummies, sarcophagi, yeti, booby traps, and such. I miss that adventure line. Had some silliness, but was fun. Same with the Ninja/Samurai line.
