LAJ_FETT posted: For those in the UK, I've just seen an ad on CN Too (Sky Channel 602) for the new Indiana Jones Lego sets. It was pretty good - a Lego version of the rolling rock and the airplane takeoff from the beginning of the first film.
Yep. There's also a Nazi truck, Dr & Professor Jones escaping on a bike past a checkpoint, and an egyptian temple.
Funny how much of what they're using to do these sets is based on parts from about 5 years ago when they had a series of adventure sets which included an indian palace, byplanes, mummies, sarcophagi, yeti, booby traps, and such. I miss that adventure line. Had some silliness, but was fun. Same with the Ninja/Samurai line.
I had a bunch of those, probably because they reminded me of Indy so much...

I haven't seen any other Indy Lego ads. I've also seen one for Star Wars Lego that is based on the Geonosis battle.

Well, all the sets are up on the lego site if you want to have a look. It sometimes takes a couple weeks for things to turn up there, but it usually shows up. Sometimes the organization is a little odd--like the starwars section.

The G.I. comic packs are coming out fast and furious. I picked up the Ace/Wild Weasel, Tomax/Xamot, Crimson guard/Cobra Scar trooper and the other Snake eyes/Storm Shadow sets.

Found one McFarlane NHL Series 17 Ryan Miller on the pegs at TRU this morning. That, combined with the McHan I grabbed too, made for a slightly better morning (after being told my car needs three grand worth of work put into it )

Sorry to hear that, Solo42986.
I don't know if anyone caught the 'Indiana Jones' stuff amongst the Toy fair coverage so I thought I'd post a link here [Very mild spoiler warnings apply for any of the 'Crystal Skull' figures].
Indy toys
And Hasbro is releasing some G.I. Joe 'DVD 'figure' packs. I guess they're along the lines of the comic packs, but themed with episodes of the old cartoon [Mostly the various mini-series]. Looks awesome. Expensive, but awesome.

Brilliant linkage, thanks Although, some thoughts...
• It's 2008 isn't it? How come Shia LeBeouf's figure looks like Shia, yet Harrison Ford's figure looks like a generic bloke in a hat? Oh, hang on, is it something to do with some actors being inherently plastic? (J/K)
• Let me say something - I'm an opener. And while I don't treat my figures like a toddler, I'm not obsessed with keeping them pristine. But they've GLUED them to the stands... for some reason, that makes me wince.
• [SLIGHT INDY CHARACTER SPOILERS] Separated at birth? [/SPOILERS]
Still, I'll probably buy most of 'em

I've been planning to try to get back into G.I. Joe buying and collecting starting with the new 25th anniversary figures that are supposed to be in stores. All I see when I got to stores are the Sigma Six junk. Then there's the pegwarming Pirates of the Caribbean 3 figures alon with Ben 10, tons of the WWE Jakks figures, Spawn figures that noone even buys

Picked up the light-up Halo 3 Cortana figure at GameStop today. Now to just find the Warthog (& probably Ghost), and I'll be all set until Wave 2 comes out.

I bought the G.I. Joe Dreadnoks comic pack @ Wal-Mart. This 25th anniversary Joe stuff is flying off the pegs. Now what we need are some new vehicles .

Awesome! Where is that from, Riibu? Is that something new that's coming out? Do you know if that's going to be @ mass retail or just comic shops or on-line? It reminds me of those 'Lord of the Rings' deluxe gift sets from Toybiz. Very cool.

It will be available at specialty shops (Hot Topic, for example) as well as comic shops (you'll want to ask your local shop if they've ordered any). Not mass retail, though. I think most online shops are already offering pre-orders.
The boxed set features the 4 Turtles with just their weapons. You can also get each Turtle individually on a blister pack, which will come with a display base and additional accessories.
So my plan is this:
1 boxed set to display (IMO that thing is all about the box art)
1 of each Turtle to open (and display again...)
And one Michaelangelo to keep blistered, because he's the best.
They're not due in stores until May, though. *cry*
However, there is an exclusive boxed set that will be sold at NYCC next month. This one is nearly identical to the box I pictured, but it also comes packed with the bases and additional accessories that the individual figures have. I can't go to NYCC, but I've got an inside source I might be able to get one through. This isn't a must-have item for me, though, so I'm good with or without it.

Cool, thanks for all the info ... I agree the box art is really awesome... I guess the look they're going for with the figures is reminiscent of the original graphic novels, with the stylized look and red masks?
