Dollar General is great for $2 G.I.Joes. Of course they're the crappy ones, but they kept the Joes alive when other stores had given up.
Having said that, I have to admit that I've cut back on G.I.Joes. I just don't have the money for everything right now. Between comic books, dvds, and several toy franchises, I had to start cutting back. The Joes were just getting stored away anyway. Someday I'll either regret this decision or find them all cheap on ebay.

I'm guessing the latter .
I know what you mean though. Since I only collect OT themed Star Wars figures, my spending on new Star Wars stuff is way down from previous years and I funneled most of that to G.I. Joe. Now, with Indiana Jones stuff coming out, I'll shift if over there.

It's 12:18 where I'm at: Officially May 1st! Since I'm just now getting off work, I think I'm gonna hit up a few Wal-Marts for the new Indy figures on the way home.

I stopped by the Wal-Mart closest to work on the way home and they didn't have their Indy stuff out. I was going to stop by the one closest to my house but I was just too tired and the traffic was a mess. I'll do it tomorrow or maybe later tonight if I can unglue my butt from this seat .
A few people of @ IMDB said they found stuff today so I guess it's on!

^ Cool. The truck & the Jeep?
Well, I hit the motherload tonight. Wal-Mart had the 'ROTLA' & 'KOTCS' waves, plus Indiana Tater, 12" Indy & Mutt, deluxe figures, adventure heroes, a Jeep and other stuff.
I got the entire 'Raiders' wave of figures except for Belloq [Who looks like that priest from 'The Princess bride' to me ] and Marion because they didn't have her [short packed?]. I got both 'KOTCS' Indy's, plus Mutt with jacket & sword [but skipped the one with the knife & snake], Spalko & Dovchenko. Also got the tater. It was my gf's first up close experience with my toy collecting and I must say she handled it well; even though it took me 10 minutes to find a 'ROTLA' Indy [with a w/idol] that had a good paint job. The 'KOTCS' Indy's were much better for some reason.
I've decided to open these figures because the packaging design is such that they're not easy to find C-9 anyway. Bye-bye neato packaging .
Unfortunately they were sold out of the truck and no sign of the Indy & Horse. Oh well, gives me something to hunt for this weekend.

Yea, my day was a treasure trove as well. Found everything except for the Jungle Cutter and a few of the deluxe figures. I scored all of the basic figs and the few deluxes I could find. I'm going back after work to pick up the jeep and the cargo truck.
Ya know, I really REALLY want to open the figures, but the packaging is too awesome in my opinion (although you're right, they are hard to keep mint. The stock guys at one of the Wal-Marts shoved ALL of the figures into one of those little island carts and literally tore off the top of all the figures so I had to pass on them).
Also, my Wal-Mart broke down and put out the new Hulk figures and the new Dark Knight figures. Triple score!

Our Target had out their Indy stuff. WalMart did not however.
Target had out the 12 inch Indy, Mutt and German Officer. Also the kids toys 2packs and the regular Indy figures. Indy figures are a little over 7 dollars and I didn't think the Indy figure was much better likeness than the Disneyworld one I got in December for only 5.
The Indy with ark pack was pretty cool though.
Target also has some exclusive transformers in tubes. Their movie versions of BumbleBee and Jazz that transform into cars. They're the same kind of tubes that they have the Jedi/Trooper packs in.

I've had a pretty similar experience so far so I guess it's not just around here.
- First Super Wal-Mart I hit Thursday still had nothing out today
- Meijer Super Center had some basic & deluxe figures out, but nothing I didn't have or wanted [they had their basic figures priced @ $8.99!]
- Target had the 12" figures, including the German soldier from 'Last Crusade' just like pretender's Target and it was all stuck on an endcap. They had the Tater, some Legos and the toy whip but no basic figures.
Not all was lost though, I picked up the 25th anniversary G.I. Joe 'Night Specter' with Grand Slam @ Target. It uses the same mold as the vintage S.H.A.R.C. but it was only $10.00 and the Grand Slam figure is really cool.

My local Wal-Mart has all the Indy stuff out, but my local Target doesn't. So far I've bought one of the Raiders Indy figures (with the golden idol), Mutt Williams (with the leather jacket and sword), and Irina. I really wanted to get a Marion figure, but they didn't have any.
Otherwise, I'm looking forward to getting Ilsa, the Grail Knight, and Henry Jones Sr. from the Last Crusade lineup, whenever that hit stores.
Oh, just because I'm curious, is there any site that lists what "hidden relics" come with what figures?
Edit-- according to HasbroToyShop, the basic Marion figure doesn't ship until June 12th. Maybe it's not out yet?

You're going to have to search for it (try raider.com I think) but in one of the Hasbro Q&A's they gave a list of every relic. I just glanced over it so as not to spoil anything but it seem's pretty cool. The relics are broken down into different catagories like...
Semi-Toy Spoilers coming up!
...
...
...
Movie based and actual History based.
For instance, on the movie side, they have multiple versions of the "fake grails" I think (just for one example) and on the actual history side, they have items like arrowheads and stuff from Greek Myth and whatnot.
Kudos to Hasbro! An amazing idea and very well executed IMHO!

Yeah, I'm liking the relics idea a lot. I was just curious what relics came with what figures; it might influence which figures I get. For instance, the leather jacket Mutt Williams figure is pretty cool, but having it come with this as a relic was really really awesome. (spoiler if you click the link, I guess. Not a movie spoiler or anything, just a spoiler for those who don't want to know what relic comes with the figure)
Edit-- found the list.

Okay that makes sense then because I haven't seen her anywhere either. I did see her as part of a deluxe two-pack today, same outfit but I assume a different sculpt. Can't remember the other figure. Cairo Monkey Man maybe?
Nice find . I love these relics too. One of Hasbro's better pack in ideas, if not it's best. A couple of days ago, the website cooltoyreview.com had a nice preview of the 'KOTCS' figures. They highlighted each accessory and the relics but I just checked the site and it says that the domain name is currently "parked". Don't know what that means, but it doesn't sound good .
I just saw what was for me the first picture of the Jungle Cutter...
Jungle Cutter
Anyone know when this is supposed to hit shelves?

They had them out @ my Wal-Mart today too. I didn't look @ the 'Hulk' stuff, but there was a ton of 'Dark Knight' stuff. It was divided into two sections. One with lots of role play stuff like cowls [cheaper ones for $2.99 and a more expensive one with blue and red lights that light up the eye piece to simulate heat vision or something like that] as well as a 'Wayne Tech' cape that looks like it expands to become wings, gloves, weapons the whole nine yards.
Also had lots of figures; divided into two lines. One from the movie proper and one with all the crazy 'Batman' variations that you see accompany a Batman movie line. These figures look like they're a different scale than the ones from 'Batman begins', but I'm not sure. They even advertise a 'Chase' figure on the back; a variation of Batman without his cowl on [Christian Bale's face].
I spotted a 12" Cairo Swordsman today, but that's it for "new" Indy stuff.
***EDIT***
Cooltoyreview is back up. They have those detailed previews of most of the figures from Waves 1 & 2, featuring pics of all the accessories including the relics.

I got my Marion basic figure here in Florida, so I'm not sure about the rest of the country/world. She did seem to be short packed though. I only saw one or two at Target and at a Wal-Mart
(I'm not a scalper by the way. Just addicted to action figures )
I haven't seen any of the indy deluxes (other than the one with the ark) or the german motorcycle.
I thought the Jungle Cutter was coming out now, but I haven't seen it so no confirmation there.
I'm flat broke after my weekend spending splurge but I might pick up some of the Dark Knight figures later in the summer. Specifically the Batman and the Joker from that 6 inch line (the one with the chase figure)
