rebelwookiee posted: I picked up my first Dark Knight action figures the other day. Target has two-packs of 4" figures that look just like the larger figures. I really love them. the articulation is limited, but they look great and are very sturdy. They kind of remind me of vintage Star Wars figures, except they also have knees. The best part is the price...the two-pack cost me $6.29.
The batmobile/tumbler is great as well. It's simple, sturdy, and the only moving parts are the wheels and the top hatch. The only drawback is that it only holds one figure. Other than that, it's a lot of fun and only cost me $8. I hope this is a preview of what we're getting in the future with the DC infinite heroes line.
Speaking of DC...anybody seen DC universe series 2 anywhere? TRU still has remnants of series 1, and Target has completely removed them. I've read all kinds of rumors about recalls and company product removals. Pretty shaky start for such an awesome line.
Ya know...you sold me. I'd been on the fence about buying some Dark Knight figures (I collect the maine characters), so I went out and bought the bazooka joker and the staff spinning batman. I wish I could find the Batmobile/tumbler but I haven't seen it since the figures showed up a month ago. I also really wish I cuold find a movie masters joker...

I had a chance, several in fact, to pick up the entire first wave of Dark Knight Move Master figures including the unmasked Batman but I didn't. Dumbest collecting decision I've made in quite sometime. The reason is because I've been completely focused on collection Indiana Jones. I had planned to stop buying Star Wars and wouldn't start on any other series either. When the TDK MM figures disappeared and became the hardest to find figures I kicked myself for not getting when I had the chance.
A couple of days ago I came across the second wave of Movie Master figures focusing on Batman Begins. I picked up Batman and Scarecrow but didn't see the Batman chase figure.

In 1977 George Lucas created the Star Wars Trilogy and changed the way we look at movies. In 1999 George Lucas created the Prequel Trilogy and changed the way we look at Star Wars. Frasier, Lost, and Whose Line Is It Anyway? are the best tv shows ever.

That's exactly what I did. I expected to have plenty of time to pick them up, and I was focused on Indy and G.I. Joe. All that's left now are the various lower end Batman variations and "Destructo-case" Jokers.
Hopefully more wave 1 Movie Master figures will eventually ship.

As RW said, soliciting isn't allowed here. However, you could try some of the US websites in our Online Resources thread stickied up top.

I have a feeling your post is going to get deleted for soliciting, but it won't hurt for me to mention that the Joker is pretty hard to find here as well. If I could get one, I'd arrange a trade with you (outside the forum, of course ) for some Doctor Who stuff that I'm going crazy trying to find here. Unfortunately, I saw them everywhere for about 3 weeks, then they disappeared. I've read that Mattel pulled some of their figures for "quality control" purposes. I haven't seen one for a long time. Don't worry...I'm sure the price will probably maybe go down eventually.

Saw a 9th Doctor figure at ToysRUs today. Didn't know there was a series of figures available over here.
I think I prefer the campiness of the Dapol sculpts to the modern hyper-realism.

RW - what Dr Who stuff are you looking for? I know at least one US person ordered some Who items from the Entertainer's website (UK) and got them about 4 days later without any problems. There should be a link in the Online Resource thread.

Kind of a disappointing update to the re-launch of the 'Masters of the Universe' action figure line...
Also, some fans thought toys would be coming to stores, and were surprised by the online-store-only approach.
Toyguru posted this comment in this thread to help clear up any confusion:
"For the record, the new MOTU Classics line was designed from Day 1 to be exclusive to our new fan website. When we announced new MOTU figures would be coming to toy shelves this fall, we meant collector's toy shelves. As in the toy shelf that you keep you new MOTU figures on at home. If fans misunderstood this comment I appologise, but to make things clear, there will be one figure per month available only on the new fan website. This has always been the plan!"

LAJ Fett: I've managed to find most of what I wanted, with a bit of searching. I'm still looking for a Sarah Jane with K-9 for my daughter. I just found a good US based online dealer, so things are getting better. I still wish I could find all the neat stuff I see in the ads in Doctor Who Magazine like bath toys, clocks, towels...all the odd stuff that doesn't make it over here.
JUKE: That MOTU news upset me as well. I loved the newer figures and found all of them except the snake men series in stores. I was really hoping for a return of He-Man. I'm sure the online figures will be overpriced.

I was really disapponted too. As far as I know the price per figure hasn't been announced but I'm guessing something around what the DC figures go for. When you factor in s&h it'll probably come to $20 or so a figure. I'm sure I'll pick up a few [He-man, Skeletor], but it won't be as much fun as buying them at retail.
I don't think I ever did see any of the "Snake men" series figures around here. I actually had no problems finding the initial figures until around the Evil-Lyn wave.

Evil-lyn was the only one I had trouble finding. The one and only one that I found I bought at Gordmans, which is a discount store.

Lots of toy news coming out of the SDCC [Thought I'd post it here and keep the "Official thread" for 'Star Wars' related stuff].
'G.I. Joe' is back BIG TIME. Not only is the toy line hotter than it's been since it's 80's hey day [thanks to it's retro update] but there's also a new cartoon and comic book on the way.
-- The cartoon is going to be called 'G.I. Joe: Resolute' and will debut in the Spring of '09. Details aren't widely availible, but according to reports it'll be geared more toward adults [after 10] and features characters from the 'A real American hero' Joe line. The Hasbro panel @ SDCC showed a short clip from the show and a few character drawings [Snake eyes, Stalker, Storm Shadow, Destro and the Baroness]. In spite of some cosmetic changes [Stalker has dreds, Destro's costume, the Baroness' new "curveless" figure] it appears to be much more true to the original 'ARAH' concept than 'SIGMA 6' and the new movie, 'G.I. Joe: The rise of Cobra'.
-- The comic book will be presided over by none other than original 'G.I. Joe' comic and file card writer Larry Hama.
-- And there's the aforementioned movie too .
Here's a report on the clip of the cartoon and it's reaction
latinoreview report
Go here to check out photos of new figures and pictures of the character drawings from the new cartoon [also a few pictures of gee-, er people, dressed in Cobra costumes]. Also a link to more info on the new comic.

By now you may have heard that the new 'Masters of the Universe Classics' collection will be sold exclusively on-line through Mattel's new on-line toy store mattycollector.com. Well, the first two figures have been announced [beyond the SDCC King Greyskull] and they are He-Man and Beastman.
The site lists them as coming this Fall for... you might want to sit down for this... seriously, last chance... $20.00 U.S. [I don't know if that includes S&H or not]. On the flip side they look amazing.
Click on the figures for a gallery of larger photos.
