IncomT65 posted: Yep, C-10 is basically a figure that just came out of the Kenner factory. Or could've been. And then there's AFA, of course
Personally, I don't care much for the C-grading and even less for the AFA-grading. Sure the AFA is "official", but raises the price far too high, imho. And the C-scale is just a matter of opinion. If I think a figure is C9, then another person could think it's C8.5. I'm much more interested in a detailed description of paint wear, limbs, etc.
I agree... I see a lot of figures graded as C-9 that I would grade C-8 etc... As a collector I'd much rather have a description... Paint loss, paint rubs, limb tightness.

Bossk...this is the third thread in a row that you've posted an eBay item...and the second time you've done so acting like you just happened to have seen it, not disclosing the fact that you're the seller.
You might want to look up at the scrolling announcement one more time.

I apologize, but we should be allowed to help each other collect items that are hard to find.
Goin off a vintage collection poster i have 37 more figures to go for the complete collection. Not a goal, but something to shoot for.
I would still like Besbin Luke from ESB collection.

I doubt there was many steals/bargains at the convention (tell me
stories otherwise) so don't bother kicking yourself.
Subject i wanted to touch on was what you guys did with your vintage
figures-display outside package or inside a bag or card? I know i can't
buy two of every figure i want so what i do is...
Yeah buying 2 of each is not a bad idea, I've come up with an idea
that I would store parts of my vintage collection while some of it
was being displayed, then do a rotation keeping the figures covered
and safe most of the year.
I've stored most of my vintage figures inside of those Order 66
containers since i bought so many of them, and some replacing the
new figures i just bought by placing them inside of their cards.
(example-take concept stormy out to display and put vintage stormy inside of his package) (Galactic Marine out, Vintage snowtroop in!)
What does anyone think of this, i think it is a good idea since i won't
be displaying my vintage collection as much as the new stuff, but since
i can't buy two of everything i want, i came up with this.

I read the post where someone was starting a vintage collection from
scratch, man i feel lucky to have what i have. I just completed (for now anyway) at least 20 more vintage figs to my collection. can't imagine if i was just starting. I would probably buy a huge lot on ebay, then buy single figs here and there with guys i wanted.
any thoughts on two posts above?

Right now, my vintage figures are safely kept in zip bags in a large dark box. Mainly because I have no room to properly display them. I'll need to rearrange my little SW room and at least put in two Ikea Billy cases.
Displaying them in zip bags would be kinda silly. A large case like a Billy (with, for example, glass doors and the cd dividers) would make for an excellent display of the vintage figures.
As for the order in which to display them, that's real personal, I think. Something that'd work well for me, would be to display them in the order of the films. But you could also group them, like villains, heroes, droids, bounty hunters, troopers (should you have many a Stormtrooper), etc.
Check out the limelighting section of the vintage boards at Rebelscum. I'm sure you can come up with some inspiration.

The worse thing you can do is put them in zip bags you use to put sandwiches in as they will start smelling and mold will start to form.
They had some nice vintage pieces floating around CIV but nothing like C3,plus alot of the stuff was entombed and overpriced (afa)

The only vintage toys that I own are the original Luke Skywalker figure and the X-Wing vehicle.
