Still not arrived?  I hope no one got too interested in the things inside... 
Jean, he means those houses that are built within a few weeks. Normally a whole house needs almost a year to get built, but those houses are almost ready when you get the pieces. You just have to put together the walls and roof etc. So it's really fast.

Oh no these take months to build.
Say if we were to buy one in January of one year it probably would be ready to move in by the end of the year, you can get ones where you can move in a year and a half later which gives you more time to save or earlier depending on how far along they are already with building the houses, but on average I think most people get ones that would be ready to move in like 12 months time.

Then it sounds that you'll build your own house. Not one of those pre-built houses and not buying an already built one. Am I right?

Afternoon all. It's not too bad here - some sun and clouds. It's warmed up though - quite a few people were sitting outside at the cantine eating.

You are kind of right.
Here's an example of one of the houses we were looking at.

If you see on the page there are like 3 options for the outside look. You can make some adjustments to the layout and stuff they put in so guess it is building your own house, just you don't get total control there are limitations. But guess if you paid anyone enough the limitations could be stretched

Thanks for the link, Jean. I got a good idea now and I think that's the normal 'house building' at least from what I have seen/heard. Will it be a house similar to the ones you linked or completely different or is it too early to ask this?

Hey JED1 - where have you been hiding?
It's St George's Day here and our canteen is celebrating with English food for lunch. I'm eating bangers (sausage) and mash with peas & gravy - very good too!

Sabine, if they have that one available when we go to buy we'd get that with alterations if not another design. Also depends on house prices, however where we are looking is further out so the houses are cheaper but fingers crossed they stay like that
Les, we are kind of doing that here. Well I am more forcing people to with having brought in some English tea cakes. I had over stuff but remembered it is someone's birthday here so didn't want to bring the rest for sugar overload (they brought doughnuts) so will bring the rest in on Friday

Happy St Georges Day to all the English folks out there I have been running around for the last 24 hours. System problems last night, I had to take one of the kids ( rabbits ) to the vet at midnight ( he is fine  ) and then more system problems this morning at 4am. All that on 2 hours sleep
