Morning all! It started out sunny here but it's clouding over now. I managed to catch all the traffic bottlenecks just right and the ride in wasn't too bad. I'll probably pay for that going home..

good morning  I hope that everyone is well. I had a quiet night and are planning on taking tomorow off to recover from my rough week. Max our bunny is back from the vet and is back to his old self. He gave me a real scare.

Hi George, I'm fine so far and I'm still working on a better version of my costume. But since there's no date until I have to finish it, I take a bit more time.  And how about you? Where have you been?

Just been busy with "real life" stuff, Sabine! plus I'm having a little break from SW collecting which seems to happen to me every few years or so. I'll be back in full swing at sometime or other though!

Hey George, I know all about real life  . It's great, but sometimes it does take up more time that you'd like, eh?

Afternoon all. I'm sitting here eating lunch and am wishing I looked a little closer at the pasta salad before getting it from the salad bar. There's something unrecognizable but seafood-based in it and I think it's squid..

Nothing wrong with squid
Lucky Mike is sleeping in while I have to leave in about 20 mins and I'm really not feeling too good. Felt terrible yesterday afternoon and thought it might be exhaustion as I had a crazy week at work but my boss was sick on Monday and Tuesday so whatever he had I have now. I don't feel too bad just my throat is killing me, have a cough and can barely talk so fingers crossed no one calls me today for anything and they just email me. That way can hide in my cubicle all day avoiding everyone so no one else catches what I have!
I'll just spend my lunch there too going over road signs and rules of the road for my test next week to get my learner's permit

Ugh. Well, at least it's Friday so you can rest up this weekend.
I remember taking my UK driving test after I moved here. I already knew how to drive as I got my US license when I was 16. I just about memorized the Highway Code book for the Q&A part of the test tho! They hadn't brought in the written test here yet so the Q&A wasn't too bad. I passed first time.

Here I have to take a written and eye test just to get a learner's permit. After 8-12 months (8 if I take lessons from certain drivers schools like the equivalent of the BSM or AA schools)I can go for a road test. Then I get another license which means I can drive by myself with some restrictions then after another year get a full license (not sure if I need a test for that stage or not).

Aww. I told you to 'lose' your cellphone, Mike. Work was busy for me but I managed to get out on time. Then I was mowing the lawn and started smelling this horrible stench. At first I thought it was a dead 'something' under the bushes but it's pretty much blanketed the area. Either some farmer is mucking a field southwest of my area or the police found a mass grave in that direction. (Yeah, it smells that bad). I finished the lawm and ran in to close all of the windows. I can't say I have much appetite for food at the moment.

Jean, that doesn't sound good. Does your throat hurt as well? I hope not... I had a some anginas (throat hurting, not able to speak) and they were nasty. So I hope it's something else, something that passes a lot faster!
