I know what you mean, Mike. So am I!
It's sunny and warm here but breezier than yesterday. I took some of my hay fever medicine this morning before I left so at least I'm not sneezing! The area where I work backs onto farmland so there are plenty of plants and grass for pollen. Sometimes we can see sheep out grazing but I didn't see any when I went to the canteen for lunch. (Vegetable chow mein today - not too bad. Needed soy sauce though).

Although I wish you could have a quiet day every now and then, I would have been shocked, if you really had one, since you're speaking about very stressfull days and nights all the time. 
I hope you can enjoy the sun a bit. I already did it by doing some food shopping, now I'm working on some applications and later I'll sit in the sun learning for my Personal Trainer exam.

Good luck with your exam Sabine
I have been good this week, been getting back into diet mode and exercise which has been hard since starting work. Especially as my director who's 8 month pregnant keeps bringing doughnuts, muffins, cakes etc in and she sticks them in the middle of the cubicles, guess where I sit? 
Last time I picked up the cakes and took them to the over side and put them next to all the guys that sit there.

I took French when I was a kid. (There was a neighborhood lady who taught it). I still remember some of it. I'm better at Spanish though since I had that when I was older.
If it's giving you problems see if the company either has language tapes/CDs you can borrow or maybe they will spring for an intensive course for you.
See I didn't have an option I just got Spanish until GCSE time which was what's the point of changing now and rushing and learning a language in 2 years which wasn't going to happen so stuck with Spanish. Of course Spanish is not so useful in Canada, it would be in the US though.
I don't think they have tapes here for people to learn because anything that needs to be translated goes through a procedure to people / department that's designed for it. I guess knowing it is not really a requirement just useful.
I think it would be a autumn course for me as currently all my pays for the summer are paying for driving lessons. Which is more of a necessity here.

Morning all! Well, it started out with a bit of sun here but the sky got darker as I drove in and the heavens opened up as I got to the carpark at work. Ended up sitting in my car until the rain eased a bit. It's stopped now but it still looks a bit threatening.

Good morning everyone The weekend is finally almost here. It is going to be busy few days with errands to run on Saturday and visiting my folks on Sunday. I am taking Thursday and Friday off next week and the following Monday ( May 19th ) is a stat holiday. I am hoping for a relaxing several days... well I guess I can hopoe

Sounds pretty good, Mike. Actually I thought of you on the drive home yesterday. I was stuck in a bit of traffic and there was a field near the road. I looked over and there was a brown rabbit sitting up on its hind legs sniffing the air.
It's supposed to be nice here today - sunny and in the 80s F. So far it's been pretty cloudy but it looks like that might be breaking up now. It's warm though - definitely garden weather!

Five days off in a row, Mike? Won't you get withdrawal syndromes? 
Our next public holiday is on Monday. May is usually the month with the most public holidays I think (at least it feels like it).

We get two in May as well - 1st and last Mondays. At the end of May gov't employees get an extra day for the Queen's birthday as well. However, our next holiday after that isn't until the end of August. We need something around July to beak things up a bit.

Here I think we have Victoria Day which is May 19th (now how come Canada celebrates her but don't have holidays like that in the UK?), Canada Day July 1st and Civic day (no idea) I think August 4th then there's labour day beginning of September and then Thanksgiving in October.
I only know these because I only get 10 days holiday for the first year of work so have been trying to plan taking days off here and there around the holidays to make it feel like I am actually getting longer off than I really am lol

Happy Mothers day to all the mothers in North America I know the UK celebrates Mothers day on March. I am not sure when europe does. Jeannette and I are heading out to visit my mum in a little while.

That's a strategy a lot of people try here as well, but the problem is that if everyone does it, nothing would go on. So I hope you can manage to get the days off you want. 
Here's a very nice, warm and sunny day as well. It was nice to be outside and even working on an essay was good.
My mom doesn't like mothers day and so we never celebrated it.
