I'm feeling tired as well, but that might be because of the girls-meeting yesterday and going to bed too late. Today we learn a bit more about training. Ehm, how is it called in English, when you train your muscules by e.g. sit-ups? Force Training? No, honestly, what's it called correctly?

Good morning everyone I got into the office very early to get a bunch of work done without any interuptions. I will be heading out at noon and hopefully it will be an uneventful afternoon work-wise so that I can try and relax

Afternoon all. Well, since Monday is a holiday it must be raining. (And it is). Got a bit damp going to the canteen for food. Seeing the Indy film tomorrow is looking like a good plan..

We call that kind of training torture, Sabine I think it's known as strength training but I've always classed it as stability exercising.
And yes, we have to watch every film that we make-up before it's released. We need to check the quality of the print and make sure it's been made-up correctly as it's far too easy to make a silly mistake that could well spoil the film, lol.
I'm really surprised that the Golden Compass doesn't have a 5.1 DD sound option. 5.1 DD is absolute bog-standard at both the home and cinema market, so that's a real shocker. Then again DTS is better, but I'm also surprised your preamp can't handle it. Sounds like you've been put in your place though Mike, so the HDMI preamp might have to wait a bit longer
I now have my Speed Racer Mach V kit to make, so that will keep me amused for a week or so. And I think starting with GTA IV is a great starting point, Mike. GTA I & II are completely different games, while the others are not fine examples of top-notch games. GTA IV is far more refined and therefore makes for a better experience, although it does have some minor problems but they are forgivable.

lol well I have most of my money for my Macbook saved and going to get it next weekend after my driving classes start as I get paid the day before. Yay for payday.
You know what is great about having a Macbook? Mike won't be able to log on and change things when I am not using it like he does with my PC because he doesn't know how to use a Mac. Although that being said I got fed up of waking up on Sunday morning to Firefox being shut and IE being open and my desktop wallpaper being changed that I changed the password and started locking the computer (well when I remember to anyway )

The danger is though that he might start using the Mac and will see the error in his ways, and start using it all the time
What colour Macbook are you aiming for??

That is true.
I'm getting the 13inch 2.4ghz one. I figured that would do everything I need it to do and don't really want to spend an extra $600 to get a lighter one that has exactly the same things in it. Plus it means I can get it quicker and have money left over for other things like saving for flights to London etc.
I'll probably get an iMac once we are in a house, living room is kind of full at the moment so after get MacBook it is time to save for house then get the other computer. Mike can then take the desktop

Good morning everyone Saturday is one of the only days when I can sleep in so what am I doing awake at 4:30am Eastern Standard time here in North America ???? I cannot get to sleep
Matt I am baffled that a Blu Ray dvd would not have a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. The Golden compass is the first movie that I have come across that has only DTS 5.1 and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. Darn it I have already purchased 2 more speakers to prepare myself for 7.1 now I just need a preamp or a receiver with preamp outputs, something that can handle audio and video streaming, 1080P up conversion, 4 or more HDMI inputs, really good D/A convertors, and 6 or more a/v inputs and a piece of equipment that would be a good fit with the rest of my home theatre gear. An Anthem statement D2 preamp would do just fine and it is designed and manufactured a mere 20 minutes away from where I work in Toronto. I would be supporting the local economy but would they pay for my funeral expenses ??? I probably would not live long enough to hook it up once Jeannette found out how much it costs. It will be an ONKYO 4308CI for me.It offers similiar features at half the price of the Anthem and most importantly it is much better for my health The next project I have once I purchase a preamp/receiver is to rewire my home theatre. I need to take some pictures to show you all what a daunting project that will be

Now all the things, which I learned during the last months during my further training, shoot through my brain and all the differences between the various kinds of training. But I think it's better to not talk about this torture-ative topic.
So, do you get to watch lots of interesting movies? And can you really enjoy them or is it a bit frustrating, because you have to focus on certain things and can't watch the movie really?

Hey all. I went and saw the Indy film this morning in town. I thought it was pretty good. I liked it more than III but not as much as I and II. I still recommend it though. Two hours of good fun. I loved the climactic scene.
After that I took a wander around town. Picked up the Indy novel omnibus (first 3 films ) and the novel of the new film. Went into Entertainer and they had the CE Exclusive Concept R2 and 3PO figures in a protective case for £3. (Yeah, that's not a typo). Normally I don't collect them but at that price I picked one up.

We've just come back from seeing it also, both liked it although for me I had some issues with it so probably would say liked it better than 3 but not as much as one or two.
We also went to best buy and picked up National Treasure for Mike, I wanted to get Night Watch but Mike's been hyper active so not sure how long Mike would be able to sit through a film where the dialogue is in Russian and he'd have to read the subtitles. Which is also why I still haven't picked up Pan's Labyrinth.......perhaps I should just ask for those for my birthday along with the Lego SW and lightsabre for the Wii.

I get to see lots of films Sabine, some good and some bad. Seen some great ones this year and thankfully not too many bad ones, but Fool's Gold would be the worse thus far. Initially it was hard trying to not watch the film and really focus on looking out for problems, but you get trained on how to watch a film in a certain way and now I can see pretty much everything that I need to see and still enjoy the film. The downside is when I watch films at other cinemas or on DVD, I see things everyone else can't and start tutting away to myself
Glad Indy 4 got the thumbs-up from others. I've never been a huge fan of Temple of Doom, so for me this one sits below Raiders and Crusade but just above Temple. I do intend to get the Lego Indy game though
Pan's Labyrinth is a brilliant film!! What on earth were you thinking getting National Treasure

lol Mike wanted it and other than as I said those two movies there is nothing I want.
I love Pan's Labyrinth, I can understand some of it without watching although Spanish is getting rusty but I think Mike would have more of a problem watching it because he can't sit still which is why I haven't watched Amelie with him, but will definitely get them.

Morning all! It's a rainy day here so far but at least it isn't too chilly. We're supposed to have more of the same tomorrow for the Bank Holiday. Well, I've got tons of reading matter around so that will probably be my day.
I just pre-ordered the Indy Lego game from Amazon UK (PS2 verstion). It's released here on June 6.

Good morning everyone, I am finishing off 6 hours of system work that I have been doing since 2:30am this morning Eastern Standard time for those of you in North America or about 8am UK time. I am taking a vacation day tomorrow
which is Memorial day in the US. Canada had their holiday last Monday but since my job only involves the US I am going to try and take vacation days when it is a holiday in the US.
Matt I am a sucker for mindless action movies
