Just a question of value from an "oops" from Hasbro
OK guys and mods, I repeat........I am only wanting to know value of something I picked up years ago at a Wal-Mart. I am not asking anyone to buy it. Here it goes....
I was in Wal-Mart years ago and found the Planet Series Yoda figure inside the Dagobah planet. The base of the planet was supposed to say Dagobah, but says Death Star instead. I saw about 4 of these on the shelf and I decided to spend my last dollars on 2 of them. I called a comic book store after I bought them and out of curiosity, wanted to know what they could be worth. The guy told me that it was a counterfiet and I told him no I bought 2 of them last week. He told me that it is easy to slip something out of the package to make it look like a oops but I assured him that the factory tape is still intact. He was so stubborn about it I told him thank you for your time and I just shrug it off ever since. But that is as far as I went with it.
Now I am curious again on the value of Hasbro's screw up. I know it wont be that much but I still want to know what I have.

Things like this happen all the time, and they're rarely worth anything. The comic shop guy was probably justified in his suspicions...there's a lot of clever trickery going on out there, and people return things to stores that have been "altered." Things are usually more valuable when it was some kind of running change or variation in the figure, rather than a simple factory screw-up.
