I have a question: The Padme Droid-Factory figure--did they short pack that one? TRU had everything (as far as I could tell) except Padme.
Or is it just that this is the first individually packed Padme in 4 years, and all the fem-figure fans are going wild?

Managed to get me the CW Anakin, Obi-Wan and Captain Rex.
Quite impressed with Rex, though (and no cliche jokes  ) the rifle he comes with is a bit thin.

I see a lot of figs are either "Droid Factory" or "Includes Clone Gear". What's the Clone Gear aside from the cardboard box-shaped thing?
Don't know if it's been exactly or just over 4 years since the last Padme', but probablly not far off. One or two came out with RotS, but that's it except for one that was in a pack with droids from the TV cartoon.

The Clone Trooper gear is just a bunch of blasters the clone troopers use. Well, and for some reason a battle droid blaster. Nothing really exciting... except the blaster used by the Jet Troopers in Battlefront!

Why do some of the Droid Works figures have parts to one droid at TRU and parts of another droid at target? TRU vader & clone troopers come with Blue R4 bits, while Target Vader & troopers come with Evil Protocol Droid bits. ???
To be honest, I'd rather they just made the droids separate figures, their own line maybe, with the interchangable parts as a gimick.

Exactly! And I must admit, it's working on me! I've already bought two figures I normally would have passed up just to complete a droid! And now to complete another droid I need that fat, six-boobed, dancer! Yuck... I've almost picked it up three times just for the droid part!

well, double-check the necessity. As I've said, some figures come with different parts, depending where you buy them.
As for Madame 6-feeder, stick her in the back of your jabba's palace diarama. Or give her to the Rancor. Feed her to the sarcac. Failing that, face her into a corner.

I don't think this is a difference from TRU to Target. I think what you are seeing is the difference between Waves 1 and 2 of the Legacy collection vs. Wave 3 repacks. The Darth Vader and some of the troopers were repacked in Wave 3 with protocol droid parts instead of astromech droid parts. The repacks are easy to spot because the cardback has blue eyes on the stormtrooper instead of black.
