I desperately want a six-inch Darth Vader to go toe-to-toe with my Marvel Legends and DC Classics.
Not to mention all of the other six inch stuff I have.
Is it just me?
And does anyone think this will ever happen?

I don't think it'll happen. Not anytime soon, anyways.

Hmm, not for me, although I see exactly where you're coming from.
Myself, I wish they'd make more figures at 3¾"scale. I'm looking forward to Indy, the Pirates of the Caribbean line was pretty good, and Voldemort and the Dementor from the last Harry Potter line just about work. When I was a wee nipper, I used to love playing SW with my Action Force (the 80's UK equivalent of G.I.Joe) figures. And it still gives me a silly grin to put Davy Jones in my Tatooine set-up
The only drawbacks I could see in a 6" line would be that;
• You'd only get the 'basic' figures for ages before they get to the more interesting ones (if at all)
• That it might impact on the 3¾" line if Hasbro were to get the license.
Other than that, I'd be interested to see what they'd come up with. I'd probably buy a couple of the cooler ones
As I recall, there was a horrendus bootleg line back in the late 90's which was scaled in 6". I've got a couple of the Chewie's upstairs, I think they're great Probably not what you're after though

Actually the Epic Force figures were 6 inches tall without the rotating base. I have the Boba Fett one. (A few of them, actually, as a local store put them on sale at a ridiculous price to clear them). They are more of a small statue than an action figure though as the base is the only moving part. There was a Vader, however. You might find one on Ebay at a decent price.

I've been saying this for a few years myself [Since the 'Lord of the Rings' line came out], Valens-Pax, and I'm pretty surprised because the reaction I get from collector's is usually "Meh.".
I think the 3 3/4 line has gone about as far as it can go for the time being and IMHO this would be a nice evolution. It won't happen, though. The 3 3/4 inch line is Hasbro's bread and butter and I can't see them either abandoning it or creating competition for it.

Unfortunately, I think you're right.
To me, Hasbro could just license a limited edition six-inch line that would maybe only appeal to collectors and would not be available in stores. The line would boast multiple POA, cloth accents, and bases that could lock together with other bases.
This wouldn't create any real competition with the existing lines and would actually bring in a good bit of revenue for the company, as there are a lot of folks out there who would buy these.
I bid on an Epic Force Vader on eBay. If I win him, he might end up being my very first custom. Not sure how well it will come out, but it looks like I have no other option.

I have a couple of those Epic Force figures, I think that was the line. I got Vader and Luke when KB Toys clearanced them. I really am amazed at the detail the figures have. The face on Luke is just like Mark Hamil.
I think a basic set of 6 inch figures would do well. I don't think its a line that would require all the background characters and really some of that gets silly. But I think some detailed, multiple articulated versions of the main cast would sell.
I kinda wish there was more of a "standard size" for action figures, like a small size and a medium size and then the 12 inch doll size. A lot of fans like many series and enjoy mashing up scenes.
